Automation Woes
Automating Notes to CC7 then CC7 to Velocity. This was a successful enterprise in 5.13. Now, in 7.11 it erases notes which is not what I'm aiming for. Has anyone at all been able to pull this off? Many many thanks, Earl

Vanishing Audio MIDI Driver
I've been using a vintage Yamaha YS200 with DP 5.13 for several years now. The YS200 had been showing up in Audio MIDI Setup. In the least month, the YS200 has disappeared from the AMS. I checked that the Mac is receiving data from the YS200 with MIDI Monitor. I also ran a reset to see if AMS would ...

Help Please: Durations converted to Sustain CC64
As a starting point for automating Sustains 64 I would like to convert durations (usually in the bass) representing the harmonic rhythm to CC64 data and then proceed to edit the specifics? Any suggestions on automating this process? This would be particularly helpful in large scale piano pieces. Tha...

Re: Help Please: Shortcuts for Controller 64 Sustain Input
Shooshie... Many Thanks! The option drag method is going to be very helpful. Could you walk me through the recipe for the Console? There are a lot of choices for the buttons and I wasn't sure about the on off/0-127 states in the selections. Best wishes, Earl

Re: Shortcut for this?
1. Zoom to Selection works in Sequence Editor with the I Beam Selection Tool. The option command S works for this. 2. One can also increase the vertical size of the track in Sequence Editor by using the Grabber Hand to pull the Track down, or by using the vertical plus button. The shortcut for this ...

Re: Shortcut for this?
It's a breeze to use a Wii Remote with Home programmed to Zoom to Selection. On my system option command S. I use it all the time. It's really zippy programming a QuicKeys macro to a WiiMote key. For frequently used commands, it has sped my DP work at least 400%. In addition one can switch programs ...

How to Convert Triplets to 6/8 / Red Lines Help Please
The original MIDI file that was imported followed the original notation file with eighth and sixteenth triplets, duplets and sixteenths in 2/4 and 4/4. The corresponding audio file is full of rubati, so that the quarter note beat unit, which is already aligned via Align Beat in the sequence creates ...

Re: Groove from Audio: What am I doing wrong Help Please Shooshi
There were several problems. 1. Making the selection for the Groove in the Waveform Editor rather than the Sequence Editor. 2. Not using the snap to grid feature in the Sequence Editor. 3. Overuse of Seriousity 4. Not supplying MLC with bifocals for my initial post: "Thanks anyone for help!&quo...

Re: Groove from Audio: What am I doing wrong Help Please Shooshi
Many Thanks Dave: I'm using 5.13. This is not happening: 1. Use the edit resolution grid to snap to barlines 2. Select the groove region in the timeline ruler. There is an option to snap to quarter notes, but not to snap to barlines, unless I am missing something. The cursor is "stuck" to ...

Thanks Shooshie. Yes, The Sequence is aligned with the Soundbites. The barlines are aligned with the Audio. I am using the Groove Quantize command. Could someone ask Magic Dave for help on this? Many thanks. Best wishes, Earl

Groove from Audio: What am I doing wrong Help Please Shooshi
1. Beats are aligned in Waveform Editor and Sequence Editor 2. Set soundbite tempo 3. Selection on WFEditor of 8 bars of 2/4 4. Create Groove of 16/4 5. Apply Groove to same MIDI file in Sequence Editor 6. Velocities do not change even when applied; though they were set to Full and 200% in the New G...
