The original MIDI file that was imported followed the original notation file with eighth and sixteenth triplets, duplets and sixteenths in 2/4 and 4/4. The corresponding audio file is full of rubati, so that the quarter note beat unit, which is already aligned via Align Beat in the sequence creates "bumps" due to the extremes of tempi signalled by the quarter notes. In actuality (in the Audio file) the transition between the quarter to the eighth note is smooth. I tried to change the duration by taking it up by 150% since that would change the eighth triplets into eighth notes, however this scrambled the durations, and the quarters remained quarters rather than becoming dotted quarters. I also tried changing the meter to 6/8 prior to the duration change. What I am aiming for is to have separate beat handles for the triplets so that the tempo changes and velocities will align. Hope someone understands and can help. Midlife Crisis do you have your bifocals handy?
On a different note, short of erasing all current beats in waveform editor, is there a way to get rid of the distracting vertical red lines that appear in Sequence Editor when DP thinks that beats are misaligned? I changed the popup menu to "Volume" which does eliminate the vertical red lines, but at the expense a pale view of the waveform. Again thanks in advance. Best wishes, Earl

Post on the Red Lines here.
BTW, I don't agree with JS - I don't see that there is a bug here.

…string theory says that all subatomic particles of the universe are nothing but musical notes. A, B-flat, C-sharp, correspond to electrons, neutrinos, quarks, and what have you. Therefore, physics is nothing but the laws of harmony of these strings. Chemistry is nothing but the melodies we can play on these strings. The universe is a symphony of strings and the mind of God… it is cosmic music resonating through 11 dimensional hyperspace.
