Shortcut for this?

Is there a shortcut for the 'note grid zoom' aka 'waveform zoom' - the little triangle slidey thing in the graphic/MIDI editors? I cannot find it in commands- but that does not mean it doesn't exist!

Have you checked the manual index under Zoom? There are several entries that would provide your answer.

I'm having a hard time figuring out what you mean by "triangle slidey thing" for the only triangle I see in all those windows is the mini-menu. The zoom levels in the Mini Menus have their keyboard commands listed by their sides in the menus themselves: COMMAND-Arrows, and so on.

I believe he is referring to the NOTE GRID ZOOM and VERTICAL WAVEFORM ZOOM (DP 6 pp 312).

It's a breeze to use a Wii Remote with Home programmed to Zoom to Selection. On my system option command S. I use it all the time. It's really zippy programming a QuicKeys macro to a WiiMote key. For frequently used commands, it has sped my DP work at least 400%. In addition one can switch programs depending on the current task, so its function is limitless. For example, a set of macros controls the related Adjust Beat, Groove, and other tasks. Check out Osculator software for Mac and Glove Pie for PC. For a multifunction controller (11 buttons) under $50, this is a real bargain. Try it if you have one of these controllers.. Best wishes, and happy macro-ing. Best, Earl

The manual does not mention how to this type of zoom in the sequence editor.

In the MIDI editor the zoom actually does increase what I wanted- the vertical size of the MIDI notes.

In the sequence editor 'vertical zoom' increases the track size, which is a different thing, so Motu have put in "the slidey triangle thing" (indeed this is the NOTE GRID ZOOM and VERTICAL WAVEFORM ZOOM) to increase the size of the MIDI notes vertically and to increase the audio waveform vertical display. However there seems to be no command for this.

1. Zoom to Selection works in Sequence Editor with the I Beam Selection Tool. The option command S works for this.

2. One can also increase the vertical size of the track in Sequence Editor by using the Grabber Hand to pull the Track down, or by using the vertical plus button. The shortcut for this is command down arrow. This works in the Sequence Editor and the WaveForm Editor.

3. To Zoom In to the Note Grid use the Zoom Tool and Click or Drag to Enlarge, Option Click or Drag to Zoom Out.

Hope this helps. Earl

You're correct, there's no command for this in the SE. I have emailed MOTU requesting a key command, surely it would be simple to implement. Maybe in the upcoming SIG-NI-FI-KANT upgrade. You can avoid having to click and drag if you have a scroll mouse by scrolling over the magnifying glass, and if you hold down option while doing it all tracks in the SE will change at the same time.

Thank you thank you! It does seem like it would be a really useful command.
