Hey Sushi - I just noticed that you have Logic 8 in your sig at the bottom. I use it too...... but don't think I could ever fess up to it in public. er... like I just did. Remember the rumor that Apple was trying to buy DP before they approached the Logic guys? Can you imagine how much different DP...

so here's the BIG question. to ALL the DP AND Logic users here in this forum ... which app do you like/use/prefer best? I have recently bought Logic 8 and installed it (havent worked with it yet) and wondering if I should take the time to dig into the app. If I could afford the entire waves bundle,...

I've read DP4's manual cover to cover, and v5 about 85%.

Now I'm on page 740(ish) in the Logic Studio 8 Manual. (DP's manual is a better read IMHO)

I think it's worth it if you work with it daily. It goes faster than you might think since there's so many diagrams.

I'm happy to do my own editing, but if they could add a "Coffee Brewing" feature to DP.......... I think I speak for all LA composers............... it would be PERFECT! At least a "transmit sync to coffee pot" option - tripi Uh, hey Mr. East Coast, we drink Lattes and other fan...

The tools included to edit audio/automation in DP are for more intuitive and flexible (at least to me) then anything offered in Logic. I like some of both apps. I'm more comfortable editing audio in DP, but I go back and forth about the different automation features... The number of tracks you can ...

Off the Logic vs DP topic however I wanted to ask you about recording busses for stems. Could you elaborate. I do a lot of stem bounces, they are time consuming and tedious. Is there a quicker way that I'm not aware of in DP? cheers AC I'm not sure how you're doing it to know if this is different, ...

IMO, DP used to have the best features hands down for scoring for film. LS8 now is close, but I still like some of the tempo mapping features of DP more. One film-scoring feature that used to put DP ahead for me was being able to record off busses so I could create stems for recording sessions and d...

MOTU does not provide any way to route the computer audio via the CueMix utility or the onboard mixer in your 828 or my Ultralite. Very annoying. I had not considered that this would not be possible. Does your sub have an internal crossover like consumer units? If so, output to that and then feed y...

I'm trying to use a subwoofer in my setup with my 828mkII. I can make a bus in DP or logic that outputs to an 828 analog out that would go into my sub, but I would like to set it up so that the sub is always on and acting as support for my stereo speakers.... this way, I wont be mixing with the sub ...

my translations haven't worked as smoothly as I hoped... I'd worry about horse power too. One older giga box can supply me with _much_ more 'orchestra' than my G52x2 with M5v2 in DP. I haven't experimented with standalone use, but I'd bet 2 GStudio boxes will be hard to replace with just two Minis r...

. I agree that a lot of the things we've complained about are doable, but they could be just much easier to accomplish. I've written to MOTU about this. I trully hope they implement some of the features we are asking. Otherwise, our beloved DAW will follow the same pattern as a boring wife, that do...

I got my confirmation on July 22, but no shipment sent yet. Is this normal? (I think I was a few days late to order my free upgrade...)
