Try reseting and rebuilding your Audio MIDI setup, Delete everything and start from scratch.

What is said here is the same with the Mackie and they left that out of the manual. Create a device for the Mackie and hook the MIDI virtual cables to the Mackie core MIDI driver. 5 to 6 frames seems about right for the Firewire latency, are you using QT7? if so there is an issue with DP and audio sync with QT7.

Are you copying your movie audio to DP?

Although you can definitly use this plug for mastering, you can also try it on the master bus for a gentle boost or cut, its also nice to use on vocals as it can be very precise. With any DSP card, its better to stop the playback if you are changing, moving the plugs to another channel. I have seen all kinds of problems with the TCPC when tryin to do that. AS well if you insert a new TCPC plug while DP is playing the automatic delay compensation will not work, until you stop...
