UAD Precision EQ?

Post by jon »

I purchased this very fine uad-1 plug-in this past weekend. I find it to be a very smooth sounding mastering EQ. Any tips or ideas regarding using this plug to it's fullest extent?

There's not too much to say about a mastering EQ as long as it sounds good. My only tip would be to use it sparingly. Mastering EQ's are used for very small overall tweaks. I also have this EQ and love it.

Although you can definitly use this plug for mastering, you can also try it on
the master bus for a gentle boost or cut, its also nice to use on vocals as it can be very precise. It doesnt color the sound.

As with all EQ's; use sparingly and remember that cutting in some cases is better than boosting.
