DP Control Surface Setup Issues
Hello all. I recently reinstalled Leopard (clean install on new HDD) and I'm now having issues getting my Mackie Control Pro to work within DP again. I had no problems the last time I restored my machine (Tiger w/ 5.11), and have since been simply upgrading DP versions, as well as my OS, so reinstalling this thing has not been necessary until now.
The problem I'm running into is that when I try to add a driver to my DP configuration by pressing "+" in the Control Surface Setup, nothing happens.
CueMix sees the Mackie instantly w/ no configuration whatsoever and functions perfectly.
I've tried restarting the lappy, power cycling the Mackie, plugging directly into my MacBook's USB... nothing. Everything is set up exactly the same as it was before in Apple's Open Audio MIDI Setup.
I'm totally confused, somebody please, please, please give me some suggestions! THANKS!

Thanks for responding! There is no driver download or disc, as all documentation for this control surface is basically the same as it's USB-less, MIDI only predecessor. Previously there was no need to install any drivers, I just added it in open audio and afterwards the driver just showed up in DP's Control Surface Setup. Very odd. Maybe I'll try connecting it via its MIDI connection and see if that kick-starts the driver recognition... Any other thoughts?

Funny you should mention this - when I first bought this MCU Pro it took me all night to figure that out! This time, I added another "MCU" to route into the MIDI inputs of the real MCU as my first step, but the issue is that when I click the "+" of the CS Setup in DP nothing happens - and by nothing, I mean I don't get anything.Saintmatthew wrote:Is it showing up in Audio/MIDI setup? If so, then it probably is just seeing the usb port. It needs to see a MIDI device attached to that port. Add a MIDI device to it's in/out ports and then add THAT in DP as the control surface.
rknaub, I've tried this also. What I'm thinking is that since the MCU works fine in CueMix maybe there's an issue with my DP install. Thoughts? Maybe a pref something or other I can reset?
Thanks again, guys!

Okay, just ran into another issue. Keep in mind that I installed only the DP 5.13 download from MOTU's website without first installing any previous versions...
I opened up a previous project created with DP 5.13 that had been upgraded from previous versions, and whaddaya know... no plugins in this new DP 5.13 setup.
So now I've uninstalled 5.13 and am reinstalling DP from 5.01 - 5.13 in order, hoping to gain all the features and plugins I had in my old setup. This may be part of the MCU issue. I'll keep you all updated...

Holy crap, it worked! I've got all my previous MOTU plugs, and the control surface setup "+" works, allowing me to select the proper driver for the MCU! So from this I assess that, unlike upgrades 5.11 & 5.12, that upgrade 5.13 does not contain a suitable full install, and that one must upgrade from one of the aforementioned versions first in orrder to retain full functionality.
Thanks again guys, I hope this helps somebody in the future!
