828mkii vs PCI 424

I have an 828mkii. I'm thinking of switching to PCI 424. Any recommendation? Thanks!

One thing though. I set ADAT as the external clock, but MOTU always switches it back to Internal after every time I restart the computer. Anyone knows how I can keep that from happening?

No, changing the clock didn't help. I used external ADAT as the clock source but the problem still there. I finally did a Windows SP1 reinstallation. It fix the problem. Wow!!! Now I have to do all the installation of everything I had on the computer. And one more thing - dealing with security issue...

I have tried what onycito suggested. Still not working for me. Worse, Windows now does not see the 828. I cannot choose MOTU as the audio device in the control panel. It just doesn't show at all. I'm gonna try to do it one more time and see if it change any. If not, I might try to find a SP1 and get...

I agree with you guys. MOTU is not consistant enough. The only consistancy that is has is your piece can work today and quits tomorrow. At some time before I said to myself: "It is working for me flawlessly. What's wrong with your systtem?" It might be the same thing that one of you who ha...

Cuemix not in sync...

I have the same problem as well. Still haven't found a cure yet. Any help other than "throw it away and replace it with an RME"?

I have the same problem. Any help?

828mkii worked fine for me until I installed the new drive (v3.6.7.3) that I got from MOTU website. The precious version that worked on my was v3.6.7.0. Now I uninstalled the new driver and reinstalled the older one, but the problem still there. I have to say that MOTU didn't do a good job with writ...

What PCI firewire card would support 828mkii?

I tried to use my 828mkii (firewire) with ADAT as the potical I/O, but the CueMix does not let me with the error read: "The device is on a bus that does not support this transfer rate." This only shown when I selected ADAT I/O as the optical I/O. I am assuming that the PCI card that I used...

Thanks George for your response. V-Stack has the Device Setup, in which you can choose the ASIO driver that you'd use, which is MOTU Audio ASIO in this case. It, however, does not have the sample rate drop down list within itself but the Control Panel button that you can click on and it leads you to...

V-Stack changes 828mkii sample rate

Everytime I start V-stack, it changes the sample rate from the 828mkii, which I set to 48kHz, to 44.1kHz. I tried to set it back to 48kHz again, but as soon as I click OK it jumps right back to 44.1. Anyone knows why? Thanks in advance for any help.
