Bring back the Loop tool in DP 10.11
I am not sure what our friends were smoking when they designed the new DP 10.1 but we absolutely need the old loop tool and 'insert loop' features back. I reversed back to 9.52 for the time being until these features are added back in. Packing to a Clip? No thanks.

Re: MOTU 896HD Christmas Lights
It sounds like you accidentally plugged in the FireWire cable upside down. I once did the same thing with the same results. Motu will repair the unit for $100.
Good luck.
Good luck.

Re: HELP! 2408 MK2 with PCI-424 set up
Hi larsahlstrom, Sorry to hear that you are having problems. As you can see in the previous posts, a lot of issues were covered and don't need to be repeated. Since the other guy in this discussion discovered that his interface was defective I suggest that you route the signal to all outputs (I gues...

Re: What do you use to burn a quick CD for clients?
I mix to an Alesis Masterlink and at the same time route the mix back into the session- this way I have the mix in two places. The Masterlink can be used as a quick burner of CDs for clients and I can easily listen to a mix without having to open a session. Very convenient. BTW- the front end of the...

896 Mk3 quick mute of inputs?
I'm using a 896 Mk3 in my live setup (with Cuemix FX) and it sounds great! Four acoustic instruments with piezo pickups go into four separate channels, plus a couple of Echoplex digital Pro loopers and a TC electronics delay (through SPdif). It all works beautifully, except that I wish I could easily...

Re: MOTU plugs vs. Waves, etc.
In response to your question: I think that each plugin has its proper use, and sometimes even a "great" plugin isn't the right choice. Overall, the MOTU EQ, leveler, limiter,ProVerb and three band compressor are very usable tools. The leveler especially is quite musical. The highest qualit...

Re: MacOS error: Unexpected error (18) when opening pre-'08
I also had this problem with older DP files and it turned out that there were older Autotune plugins that prevented the session from loading. Here is a solution: Start the DP session while holding down the 'shift' key- this will disable the MOTU Audio System. The session will load but will not be ab...

Re: Preparing DP Mixes for Mastering
A big vote for mixing in real time from my end. There is no comparison in quality. I am actually going through extensive troubles (and joys) to mix in a more old school fashion to get the most transparency out of a mix: - I have many MOTU converter channels (60 channels in my case, even more if I re...

Re: Cheap and easy wireless DP remote?
Try the Frontier Tranzport (yes, correct spelling) wireless remote control. It works great and even goes through walls. Works great with DP.
cheers!

Re: HELP! 2408 MK2 with PCI-424 set up
Sorry to hear that you still don't get any audio. The Audio wire (firewire from the 2408 to the PCI card) has to be in the port closest to the center of the card, but I don't think that this is the source of your problem. Not sitting in front of your system limits my ideas. I would actually connect ...

Re: HELP! 2408 MK2 with PCI-424 set up
Here is some more information for you to check: - Analog out 1-2 may not be the same as Main Out. If you have the choice of selecting Main Out as your output, try that. - Open MOTU PCI Audio setup and learn how to configure your 2408. Make sure your outputs are enabled (check boxes are checked), tha...

Re: HELP! 2408 MK2 with PCI-424 set up
Hi there, Cuemix and DP operate totally separate from one another. Cuemix basically monitors the inputs into your system so that you can listen to these inputs without latency. I suggest that you focus on one issue at the time. Forget Cuemix for now. There seems to be a routing issue that you have o...

Re: 828 mkIII not detected
Sounds like a nice setup that you have. The fact that your 828 MKIII doesn't get detected when connected to any of your computers by firewire leads me to suspect that the firewire port on your interface is fried. How can that happen? By accidentally reversing ("upside down") the firewire c...
