Trim vs Meter Bridge
On DP 7.2, why is the level of a given recorded track much different according to the Trim plugin as opposed to the Meter Bridge?

Re: MIDI CC Control of Plug-Ins in DP: Scope Clarification
.I am thinking about upgrading to DP 7 or 8 (prefer 7 since it is baked) and it is unclear of the scope of MIDI learn/control supported in these updates ...

Re: Assign MIDI CC DP 7.24
Now, everything works perfectly, and I further know how DP "thinks." Thank you.

Re: Assign MIDI CC DP 7.24
Poor choice of words on my part. I mean VI's as opposed to effects plugins. Auto Channelize is on and the track for the instrument I want to receive cc's is record-enabled. I'm unsuccesful in assigning cc data to MIDI LEARN CC-supported effects plugins placed below the top slot of an instrument trac...

Re: Assign MIDI CC DP 7.24
Thanks for responding, and setting me straight. Now, I have no trouble assigning MPK49 knobs and faders to the parameters of Modelo and third party VI's with MIDI CC learning capabilty. But what about 3rd party AU's with MIDI CC learning capabilty? A post elsewhere on this site claimed that one can ...

Assign MIDI CC DP 7.24
I use DP 7.24, an MCU plus an extender, and an Akai MPK49. I understand that DP 6 only supports external MIDI automation in the mixing board, Modelo, and 3rd party plugins that support MIDI CC LEARN. The keys on my MPK49 work just fine in DP 7.24, but I can't seem to use the faders or knobs to contr...

Re: Monitoring and Recording Levels Consistent
To my knowledge, I did nothing to change the setup. I've always had MOTU Trim and FreeG postfader on the Master Fader; MOTU Trim and FreeG prefader on the stereo MIX track. So now, all the meters match except the FreeG on the Master Fader. I've tried several instances of FreeG, all with the same res...

Re: Monitoring and Recording Levels Consistent
Thank you for responding. When you tested it, did you make sure MIX bus had no other channels secretly sending to it that you forgot about? Maybe they looked potted down...? Quadruple+ made sure (though I don't know what you mean by "potted down"). Well what are the settings? Make sure of ...

Monitoring and Recording Levels Consistent
I prefer to mix to a stereo track, so I routinely use a stereo buss named MIX; this buss is the output for all tracks and submixes. The output of the Master Fader is MIX; the input of the stereo mix track is MIX, the output is 1-2; the stereo mix track is set to monitor input, and solo exempt. I use...

Tiger Vs. Leopard
Though both Tiger and Leopard are both relatively ancient OS's, I remember scattered vehement arguments on the web in favor of Tiger's Core Audio. Some claim that no OS's subsequent to Tiger boast significant improvements to Core Audio, and further claim that -- at least as far as audio -- Tiger is ...

Best Way To Erase HD
I understand that if you erase an HD without choosing an overwrite with zeroes option, the data remains on the disc, but the space that data occupies is read as free space -- available to be overwritten -- by your Mac. I'm wondering if an HD erased in this manner is optimally efficient for recording...

Re: Apogee Duet Aggregate Device
I currently use DP 6.0.3 installed in a G5 Dual 1.8, 4 G RAM 10.4.11. I got the Duet working properly. I discovered that, unlike some interfaces, the Duet will function only with a short firewire cord, like the one included. A third output via built-in audio, set up as advised by NazRat, works like ...

Plug-in Management
If I make a clone of my Mac's internal hard drive on an external hard drive (using, for example, CCC) and store my 3rd party plug-ins in the proper folder on the external HD, will the DP installation on my internal HD be able to find and use them? (I'm happy to try this, but maybe someone already ha...
