Now, all that said, I was not impressed with the API or Neve Mix EQs. They didn't do a thing for me. If that's what you're basing your evaluation on, go back to the originals. Hi Splinter, do you mean that they really don't have the same sound/color compared to the *original* vintage design plug-in...

As for DI's, get the Avalon U5. I spent several hundred hours looking at all the options last year (there is a bass player's website that actually has sound bites of almost every DI out there, using many combinations of different bass guitars, different playing styles, and finger-picked vs. plectru...

I started back on system 6 and have used every version of Performer, DP and ProTools since then. 4.61 with 10.3.9 has been the most stable platform I've ever run. Hi Hopiway, As some ppl report good things about the newest Tiger 10.4.5 version with DP 4.61, what was the last Tiger's version you've ...

The issue is Garageband and Logic Frozen audio files are in a 32 bit Floating Point format and you need to convert the format to something DP will read. Like 24/48 SDII Format. I Use Barbabatch to convert all my Logic/Garageband Frozen Audio Track Files to SDII (DP's native) format.... Also as the ...

same here: Test drove the new UAD1 software and all seems well. For the past 40mins or so I have been playing with some files I had previously mastered (Going back to the DP mastering sessions themselves) and putting in the Precision Multiband where what other mastering compressor I may have used w...

A few quick thoughts with simplicity and economy in mind: 1. Drop your master fader down -3 to-5db at the outset. 2. Create an aux track called Backing Track and set that to -3 to -5db (This will mean cranking up your monitoring, but you'll have heaps of headroom) 4. Put some kind of compressor on ...

Re: Two Bounce to disk related questions
Is it only when using Audio plugins (not real time, Audio menu > Audio plug-ins) or also while Bouncing the disk (24bit to 16bit)? If I have e.g. a L2 in the master fader, L2's dither set ON and I'm bouncing my 24bit project to 16bit: Can I be sure that DP does not add double dithering? My ears say...

Hi there, May be a dumb question... in an all ITB approach could anyone know if it makes sense to make stems in DP like those who have a summing box do BUT to sum the said stems in a DAW that has a 64-bit mix engine (like Tracktion2...) ? any gain or something ? Could a 64-bit mix engine make worthl...
