UAD 4.1 software release

Post by kwiz »

Just got an email from Universal Audio which stated that software version 4.1 will be released tomorrow which will include the release of the Precision Multiband Dynamics Processor plug in.
http://www.uaudio.com/webzine/2005/december/index9.html

They also included a $147.00 coupon since I already own the Precision Limiter and EQ.

Universal Audio not only make great sounding plug ins, but they price them fairly as well.
Great family and friends!

Mac Studio M2 Max, MacPro 8 core (trashcan), MacBook Pro 16 in 2023, OSX Ventura, DP 11, Pro Tools, Logic Pro X, Motu 112D, 24Ao, 8M, 896 MKIII, UA Apollo 16, Waves Horizon, Slate Everything Bundle, Plugin Alliance Bundle, UAD-2 Satellite DSP Accelerator, UAD Apollo Twin.
Native Instruments Komplete 14 Ultimate, Console 1 MKIII w/C1 Fader

I hope Universal Audio release a PCI-e version of the UAD soon. Aside from the new Powermac computers being PCI-e, most new common PC's like Dell Dimension are adding PCI-e x1, x4, and x16 slots too although they still have one or two old PCI slots in them. I noticed Digi has "officially" started shipping their PCI-e HD Core and Accel cards plus a "Digidesign" branded PCI-e expansion chassis.

Can't wait to check out that new UAD plugin. Thanks for the update.

Kwiz: I got the same coupon. Aside from the fact that UA makes some of the best sounding plugs out there (I would not mix without them), I think that this is a company that really knows how to take care of there customers. Being able to buy Precision Multiband for $102.00 is awesome, and a no brainer as well. UA has taken first class care of me since I first bought my UAD1 Studio Pack. I now have 2 and own all the plug in's (except Precision Multiband =-). Props again to Universal Audio for for showing us how it SHOULD be done.
Peace!

same here: Test drove the new UAD1 software and all seems well. For the past 40mins or so I have been playing with some files I had previously mastered (Going back to the DP mastering sessions themselves) and putting in the Precision Multiband where what other mastering compressor I may have used was. Played with presets and did what one could in a 40 min test drive and already I have a big smile.

I am mastering these files using Precision Multiband to Precision EQ to Precision Limiter with metering by Inspector XL. All plugs pre fader with some of the metering pre fade (checking gain staging) as well as final meters post fader.

So far I am VERY impressed. The Precision Multiband seems to be a bit CPU intensive (15% on the UAD1 Performance Meter) but for mastering it really doesnt matter as I am only using a few plugs. And considering the processes that this thing in handling - Holy Sh#t this thing is smokin. Getting very defined results with noticeably more separation and clarity.

This is just a quick look see, but so far, as with all UA products, I am impressed. Gotta sleep now, more later.

No problems here with the new update.
The Multiband is a monster 8) . I was considering upgrading my Waves Gold bundle by paying another $500.00. Forget that. I'm buying another UAD-1 card for $399.00 with a $50.00 rebate from sweetwater.
For me, UAD has the best sounding, best plug-in bundles for the money when using a native system.

YEah UA is killing waves without the hassle. I was an old Disk auth customer, changed hard drives and waves is telling me I need to pay 150 to reauthorize my software.

Long Live UAD....

I'll second the PCI-E wish.....

UAD is my only hold up for getting a new G5. If they truly care about their customers and want to be on the cutting edge, they've got to do this.

They will, I'm sure. They're a really customer-friendly company, I think. And they make great stuff.

They list some of the new features to include better optimization for the PCI bus situation. Anyone see any improvement in this area?
