Re: Why the change?
Ok, it's fixed. I did plug the cables back in the correct order, but I didn't realize there were 4 slots on the PCI card to plug my 3 interfaces, and I inadvertently offset them. (It's dark back there!) Once all 3 were in the correct place, everything went back to normal. Thanks to everyone who trie...

Re: Why the change?
Yes this happened to me a long time ago, and I learned to keep the interface cables taped together so they literally have to be plugged back in the correct order. That's why I'm so frustrated that this is still happening. Also I have a session tomorrow AM! I have an emergency email in to MOTU in cas...

Why the change? RESOLVED
Hello, Today I had to unhook my Mac Pro and take it to the Mac store for an unrelated install problem I was having. I was careful when hooking it back up to plug everything in just as I found it. I have 3 interfaces: a 2408 mkIII, and two 24 i/os. The 24 i/os are labeled 24 i/o-2 and 24 i/o-3. The a...

Before I upgrade...
Hello forum people, I'm intending to upgrade the system in my Intel Mac Dual Core 3-gigahertz tower from Tiger 10.4.11 to Snow Leopard. I'm doing this mainly because I just bought a HP printer that needs to see at least sys. 10.5. -and- my new iPhone 3GS needs to see Leopard or Snow Leopard to sync ...

Re: Soundbites anomaly
Zaratero,
Thank you! That was the solution. I'm now figuring out how the bundles work, but thanks to you, I can now hear the mono soundbites.

Soundbites anomaly
Hello out there, Does anyone know why I am unable to hear mono soundbites? The stereo ones play just fine, but the mono soundbites (in the soundbites window) just won't play. The audible mode button is on, and the same mono soundbites seem to work within the sequence, but when I want to audition the...

Re: "Fixed In The Mix"
Here's something interesting. I had no pops or clicks after making several setting changes and sub-mixing the drums, until I turned on the mix track that I had done. This one track seems to be the culprit. The noise isn't recorded on the track, but that one track seems to trigger all the pops etc. S...

Re: "Fixed In The Mix"
Alright, I started shutting voices off until I had just my 8 tracks of drums up. No clicks. I decided to sub mix them to a stereo track. I then shut down all 8 drum tracks and used just the stereo sub mix. Then I added back all the other tracks. Still no clicks. I had my Work Priority set to Low. I'...

Re: "Fixed In The Mix"
THANKS to everyone who bothered to reply to my post re. pops and clicks. I checked the buffer size and it was set to 128, for recording my MIDI parts. I raised it to 1024, which is as high as it will go. Unfortunately, no difference, even after restarting a couple times. I'm still getting clicks out...

"Fixed In The Mix"
Hello Everyone, I have a somewhat mysterious problem going on: I'm getting intermittent pops and clicks in the project I'm trying to mix. I'm mixing the last tune of 4, and will no doubt have to make some tweaks in a couple of the others, but when I opened up the project and started listening this m...

Re: Proper Interface Clocking
Hi Everyone, I just wanted to let you know that the original problem with the Presonus Digimax seems to be fixed now, having been properly clocked to the 2408. (and the external clock button toggled to "on"!) The 24 i/o's apparently sync with the PCI-424 card via the firewire cables. In th...

Re: Proper Interface Clocking
Thanks,
I love building stuff, so maybe I can whip up a little box and see if it works. I appreciate you sharing your knowledge with me on this. Hopefully today, I'll be able to try out the Presonus with word clock hooked up, to see if it works without the clicks. I'll report back.
Thanks again!

Re: Proper Interface Clocking
I just got a message from a tech at MOTU that I can connect the word clock of the 2408 to the Presonus, and leave the other 24 i/o's unconnected, since they're all receiving clock signals from the PCI-424 card. I'm certainly going to try that. I'd like to thank everyone for their interest and advice...

Re: Proper Interface Clocking
Thanks XYZ, The 2408 has ADAT, but the 24 i/os don't, so I could run ADAT only to the Presonus. But that's the original problem: the Presonus apparently needs to see word clock along with the ADAT, so it doesn't click and pop. I'm going to report back just as soon as I hook this all up a different w...
