Re: Mixer track width

Thanks. I didn't think I could. It really is only a problem when I have multiple guitar trax. I like to know which mic was used and which version. I thought I could in Logic, but been a while. i.e.- GTR_421_01 GTR_RIB_01 GTR_OVER_421_01 GTR_OVER_RIB_01 GTR_421_02 GTR_RIB_02 GTR_OVER_421_02 GTR_OVER_...

Mixer track width

Im back on DP from v5, and have scoured the manual for setting the width of the tracks in the mixer window. All I can find is normal and narrow. Is there a way to make them and wider than default? With my naming convention, sometimes the name of the track gets shortened.

828MKII FW lower output lvl than Digimax FS DAC out

I have an 828MKII that I've used since '05. Recently I've added a Digimax FS for some additional inputs/outputs. Also I've made a change to OTB monitor/mix. My chain for this is 828MKII 1-8 outputs and an ADAT connected Digimax FS 8 DAC outs into a 16ch passive mix box, into a Trident s20 for makeup...

Re: Opinions please. Time to switch back, or move on.

Thanks for the comments and advice. Just to clear a couple thing up, and hopefully get a couple answers too, I didn't mean to imply I have some bad taste about DP. I actually prefer it in many ways. The last version I ran (and still do sometimes) is 5.1.3, on a dual 2.0 G5, and later on my iMac 2.8 ...

Re: Opinions please. Time to switch back, or move on.

Is there anything similar to node processing available for DP? I took a look at wormhole2, but it's not in development anymore, and at the time ('07/'08) didn't seem to be all that great. Or, is DP more streamlined that it was in 5? I'm thinking of still running the iMac, which if I can't offload pr...

Opinions please. Time to switch back, or move on.

This is a little wordy. Sorry about that. Please though, if you can, I need some advice. With the release of DP7, and prior to the end of the year, now is a good time to consider a move back to DP. I’m asking for some help in deciding my next move. As little background, I started into this game with...

Re: Audio from PowerMac G5 to New iMac & 828MKII

I did the same thing. I moved from DP5 to Logic. The two machines connect through ethernet. The G5 runs a program called Logic Node, and the imac runs Logic, connects to the G5 through a local network, and uses the G5 for processing plugs. Works great, except I can't use the Powercore PCI installed ...

Toontrack EzDrummer or S2 will run on the free ToontrackSolo. And the EZPlayerPro will do the MIDI I believe. Awesome stuff there.

Is my 828MKII dying?

I've had my MKII since '05. For a while now I've had an issue that I thought was caused by large projects and CPU/RAM related. But, lately it's been getting worse. I have a dual 2.0 G5, 4Gb Ram, OSX 10.4 (latest before 10.5 came out). When playing a project the sound will begin to turn to distortion...

I routinely run 48+ mono tracks and 8-12 Aux buses, with a couple stereo tracks thrown in. Med plug counts, "Trigger" plug on snare and kick triggering MIDI track with DKFH, 24/48 512 buffer. I run this mixing while adding 2-3 tracks at a time. I have ZERO performance issues. My environmen...

Just bought a brand new one a couple weeks ago for 725 from Musician's Friend, good luck finding one now. Works great in 4.6. Other than arming automation I love it.

Nope, you need Digitranslator to open/save OMF files in PT. DP has the same thing built in as I understand it.
