Re: MIDI keyboard splits?
There are vst plugins that can do this if you dont't mind a little setup with MIDI out of vst feeding tracks. MIDI polymesher I believe was what I used a ways back and it worked well, but it might have been another vst

Re: Kontakt "Send MIDI to outside world"
I haven't tried with Kontakt, but DP 8.07 had no problem sending MIDI out of independence and BFD 2

Re: DP9, So far so good!
I thought MIDI learn would be cool and it may be, but it's a pain in the arse to get it to work, at least with MX4. I tried a very simple one of mapping overall volume to MIDI cc7 as sent from my keyboard controller pedal. The control remaps and works no problem. The problem comes in when you close...

Re: How do you handle articulations?
I would recommend checking out transmidifier. I stick it in a startup clipping window and always run it right along side dp using copperlan and built in virtual MIDI ports. it would be great to one day have more features in this area, keyswitching, channel filtering, velocity filtering...just some t...

Re: NAMM 2015: DP9
Yeah..thank you. that VCA article is very helpful. It's been so long since I've used pro tools HD I forgot how nice that is. DP is really close to being perfect for me... HW inserts, VCA's, absolute grid(as option), and other little things like MIDI mute note tool. I'm really hoping they'll suprise ...

Re: 88 key controllers
Yep, I'm a one controller guy too, which is why I have two Kurzweil Midiboards that I hope last forever. Simply the best 88 key controller evermade IMO... but its weight doesn't make it very practical for live use.

Re: "Attach MIDI Controller" option question
Right..I don't think this is possible since you can't use MIDI to control plug-in automation. This is another reason I like VE pro. It gives you more flexibility since it's plugins can be controlled via MIDI or automation and it has it's own MIDI learn.

Re: left hand controller for DP
I have a logitech gaming keyboard at work I use for 3-D/graphics apps and it's very nice. I will definitely be getting one for home for music software, etc as well soon. It's completely customizable with their software. You can have different keysets for different software and it will switch automati...

Re: Linking MIDI to automation?
I'm pretty sure this is not possible, which leaves us out of luck for hands on control if the plugin can't be automated via MIDI. I realize automation is much higher resolution but some DAW's do allow you to do this. also VEP. Its not helpful for DP's plugs, but I host all my external plugins in Vie...

Re: custom consoles reassign data in real time
Not only did Motu not fix this bug in 8.02.. but custom consoles seem to be even more of a broken mess. I'm really dissapointed especially after I filled out a techlink and they acknowledged that it was broken. If they just worked like they were supposed to in the manual it really is a nice feature.
