IMAC not seeing 828MKII or 896HD
So, I have literally searched this forum for roughly 6 hours today...(I checked my history) I use an 828MKII, today I tried to pair it with an 896HD to no avail. In the process I messed something up, neither unit will fully power on unless I unplug the firewire from the back of the units. (Neither u...

First time ADAT Optical Woes
I run an 828MK2 and recently was got my hands on the original 896, I would like to stick with the 828 but use the pre's on the 896 when needed. I have the 828 clocked to my Lucid and the 896 is clocked there as well but it doesn't show it syncing unless I plug in the firewire from the 896 but then t...

Re: Drums on a bit of a budget
I agree, I program most all my drums and it just doesn't compare...(IMHO) The last project I finished is getting some good attention from A&R and publishing folks, they loved all the songs but could tell the drums were samples on the ones they deemed "the singles" What did we do? We we...

Re: Drums on a bit of a budget
Hey Brad!
Thanks for weighing in! I will not be purchasing drums at this time, my clients hire out session drummers so I won't have to worry about it at this point.
I love my 828, I am also a fan of the presonus piece you suggested...that may just be the way to go!

Latest CD from my studio
Done completely in DP 5 and 6, upgraded about halfway through... Live drums on three tracks, rest were programmed by me. I played most everything on the album but live drums and two of the bass tracks...Kim, the artist, also played Acoustic Guitar on most everything. This is the second album I have ...

Drums on a bit of a budget
Well... Just bought a house and am building a studio in the new garage, complete with a live drum/amp room. In the past I went to another studio to do drums for my clients and dumped the files back into DP in my studio, now I am having to step up and get more mics and pre's. I currently have the 828...

Re: DP 6.02 stuck "Processing Pitch Data" over and over
It is both alarming and comforting to see this post, I am in EXACTLY the same boat and it is only with one specific song... Planning on calling MOTU in the morning, not that they will have an immediate solution but it is a good place to start. I have tried all fixes posted in this thread and it work...

Re: DP Pitch correction produces POP
I don't have a clue WHY or HOW this happens but I have experienced the same thing....Do you have an edit anywhere around there? (On the vocal line?) One thing I have done, and it worked a time or two, is create a completely new track and place JUST that passage there to see if it changes anything......

Bad hiss sound?
Anyone else experience a hiss being added to your instruments when you print as audio or freeze the track? I am having the same issue both ways...anyone else experiencing this?
It is almost like a distortion, all levels seem to be WELL below clipping though.
Thoughts?

Re: Which is your favorite Mic for vocals?
Would say it depends on style of music, but I find the Neumann TLM103 to be a great mic on vocals and excellent on SO many other applications.
I feed it through my Millennia STT1 and it never ceases to give me great results!

Re: External HD recommendations....
My suggestion, build your own. You can save money and get the enclosure you want. I have built my own for the last 3 years and have never looked back. I prefer Seagate because they never fail me, but you know it will at some point. Check out http://www.otherworldcomputing.com , they have everything ...

Re: External Firewire Connections
I too have a new IMAC and the 828MKII and use my FW drive connected to the 828 with no real problems...if I unhook it I have to restart the computer with the drive connected to the 828 again...that is about it.
Cheers!
