Yeah, Logic 8 broke compatibility with M5 version 1...
v. 2 works... Though lots of issues loading my v.1 patches--typically all samples are set to one-shot. For my projects that have a lot of v.1 stuff, I've been staying in Logic 7...
If you use Logic, you may have to upgrade Mach 5 as well--that is, if you want to use Mach 5 at all in Logic (Logic 8 breaks compatibility with version 1).
As for sounds, don't really use either so can't offer an opinion on your main question.
About the same to me, I guess. Maybe prefer challenge/response by a bit, because forgetting my iLok has been more of an annoyance when it's happened. I wish the iLok was a little smaller and less bulgy though (doesn't really sit too comfortably next to my other dongles in some usb hubs). Peece, T. T...
As the weeks pass, my disappointment grows into disgust. :x My disappointment gave up and went to Hawaii. I think. I haven't gotten any postcards back, though. That is to say, I've given up. Maybe one day they'll fix this potentially great instrument, but in the meantime, I've switched to Kontakt, ...
This isn't from the horse's mouth, but supposedly K3 supports wave editing. From the NI website: "The new Sample Editor offers all the expected (destructive) editor functions: Cut / Copy / Crop / Delete / Paste / Duplicate / Fade In / Fade Out / Silence / Reverse / Normalize / DC Remove as wel...
Do you think logics vi's surpass reason's? IMHO: Synths are better. I don't really remember how the rhodes and organ samples for NNXT compared to Logic's VIs for those instruments though. Probably not too far off. Logic's drum machine can synthesize a mighty 808-ish kick drum, but that's as far as ...
Well, first off, how bigz your monitor? There's the thing, monitors have gotten larger, flatter, and higher res; and the overview makes me feel like I'm back in OS8--except that I'm no longer eyeball to eyeball with a 17" CRT that was so big of buttock that the screen was nearly even with the ...
I just tried again on 2.01, Yukulele, and couldn't corrupt the sample file. Meanwhile can anyone else duplicate my crashes with loop release set to "unlooped"? - Create a patch with a sample with the loop turned on & release to "unlooped" - save patch, empty and reload patch ...
Short of the revolution, they're going to have to try bundling some things together. While I must admit the perceived value of Logic's bundle is a tough thing to compete against, I also feel it should be said that the real value is much less. Really, I don't feel like much of the stuff that's been ...
So, M5v2 isn't working for me, and I've already put off any Intel-buying decisions for a while waiting for it (since M5v1 has been an essential plugin for me); and now that the new Logic breaks v1 compatibility even without going Intel, I think I should start exploring the Kontakt option more seriou...
Just wondering if anyone else is having the problem i explained on the previous page of this thread: Just giving a try with 2.0 at the moment (w/ my G5 tower). Hasn't written anything problematic in the sample itself (plays fine in the finder, Peak), but I'm also managing to regularly crash DP and ...
I can get it loaded up, even though it doesn't pass the validation test, (never did, even in Logic 7) can hear it when I play my MIDI controller, can record it, can watch it play back in the MachV window, but NO SOUND!! Same. If anyone is using version 2 with Logic 8 please let me know, as I will u...
We're tiring faster each day. What's rather vexing to me is that, in my dealings with support, the responses I've gotten (very slowly at that) have sort of had the tone of "well, you're using it wrong" ('turn the loop on, then your starts will save'... but what if I don't want the sample ...
