Mach 5 vs Logic Studio Pro supplied sounds?

Post by rockitcity »

So, I just bought an imac 24" Intel C2D, and am in the process of deciding what audio application to run on it. Thinking of putting Logic Pro 8 on it. I also have DP5 and Mach 5, which I have not upgraded to v2, as I have not needed it yet.

Anyone have any thoughts on the quality of included sounds with Logic vs Mach 5 v2? I'm thinking if I buy Logic, I may not want to upgrade Mach 5 as well. And DP5 is iffy with Leopard at this time (although Tiger is currently installed and running well).

If you use Logic, you may have to upgrade Mach 5 as well--that is, if you want to use Mach 5 at all in Logic (Logic 8 breaks compatibility with version 1).

As for sounds, don't really use either so can't offer an opinion on your main question.

I like the sounds in M52 better than the built in logic sounds. Useful to have both, imo.
