Couple of Questions re DP7

I have been jumping between using Logic Studio and Pro Tools 8 (currently with an Eleven rack) for a while but I am happy with neither. PT8 is flaky as heck on Snow Leopard and there are aspects to Logic which don't suit my workflow. Anyway, considering DP (again!) and just wondered if anyone could ...

This is for real? You're going to change DAWs because MOTU had to make choices about whom to serve first, and chose to go with cash-flow, which any small company desperately needs. This has made you so angry that you've dropped MOTU, or they've "lost you as a customer?"......................

Anyway, I'm so pissed off that MOTU have now lost me as a customer - I'll be focussing on other DAWs now but will continue to visit unicornation for the excellent recording advice and good banter. Hey Mac - it's a free upgrade, no? What the heck, it's coming to your house, just try it. I'm in the s...

BTW, that's fine with me - I am expressing my opinion on MOTU customer service in the traditional manner of the consumer by ceasing to use their products. I don't need group therapy and I don't like the facetious comment that was posted in this respect. Fine... sorry to offend your sensibilities, b...

It’s allowed them to continue to have some revenue for this product during this period. I only bought 5 because I saw the DP6 trade show demo. They probably wouldn't have had my money if this announcement hadnt been made. I also bought it expecting 6 to be released in the 1st quarter, or thereabout...

Oh I think I might have the right to cry harder than most. I bought DP 5 December 14th 2007!! Missed the free upgrade by what 16 days or so. I called them and they said 'sorry'...which I do understand but was hopin' they'd have a little mercy on me. Ah well such is life, right!? I know this kinda d...

Cashflow. Get the money in the door asap to recoup all the outlay for DP6 production, advertising, trade shows, etc. Whilst I understand the realities of business, as a customer I am not impressed. Maybe not, but if I ran a business that's how I'd do it-- wouldn't you? You'd rather delay that incom...

Complimentary upgrades will be processed in the order received when DP6 begins shipping; we expect this to occur within the next several weeks. Not quite the same as "the complimentary upgrades will begin shipping after everyone who has paid for an upgrade gets theirs". Pretty poor show I...

Complimentary DP6 Shipping Last

Just emailed MOTU and they said that they are not shipping the complimentary upgrades (i.e. the free upgrade for people who bought DP5 after 1/1/08 ) until after all the paid for upgrades have shipped. Kind of makes me a bit miffed that I am being forced to wait despite placing my request on the day...

I nearly got caught up in this one (I see the words, "group buy", and my heart rate increases!!!). However, looking into it, even at the best price under the group buy, it's still cheaper at it's regular everyday price at some big online stores like Sweetwater and AudioMidi.com. Probably t...

No joy with that. I think it might be because I only have the treble clef. I can't seem to find out where to define the clef I'm on. There's nothing under "clef" in the manual so maybe...................DOH! just looked up track options and I need to switch to a grand staff first. That's w...

Switch Staff (quick answer required..please)

Hi,
Just trying to switch the notes in quickscribe from treble to bass clef. I have selected them but the switch staff command in the mini menu is greyed out. Any ideas?
Thanks

Ah, the joys of the misleading promotional email. I got the $99 upgrade blurb but when I plug my serial for Platinum into the upgrade page, I'm told I need to pay $299 for Platinum Play version (24 bit) or $399 for the 16 and 24 bit samples. Lovely. If I want to keep my product current I get hit for...
