Switch Staff (quick answer required..please)

Post by dmacintyre »

Hi,
Just trying to switch the notes in quickscribe from treble to bass clef. I have selected them but the switch staff command in the mini menu is greyed out. Any ideas?
Thanks
David

That's quite simple.
Go to the Command-Window with "shift L" , than to QuickScribe Commandos
and define there a new Key for "Switch Staff". I for myself defined "U".
From there on all you have to do is only to highlight the note and press"U".

No joy with that. I think it might be because I only have the treble clef. I can't seem to find out where to define the clef I'm on. There's nothing under "clef" in the manual so maybe...................DOH! just looked up track options and I need to switch to a grand staff first. That's why it's greyed out.

Thanks

D.

Well, you can always do it through the options menus. Best is to switch from "Default" to "Current Track" in the drop-list, at which point it will probably default to treble clef. You can tell it Grand Staff, Treble Clef, Bass Clef, Alto Clef (for viola, e.g.), etc.

I know this is one step more than you want to have to do as you'd rather have a single-click shortcut, but this may be your only way, if the staff that you want is not making itself available for that particular track otherwise.
