Just want to add that my Traveller have worked well in 2 of my laptops (Acer Aspire 3800 and Dell Inspiron 9400) using the build in firewire and my stationary pc (Intel p4 3200), recording 16 tracks for hours without problems. I did have problem when my brother took the Traveller to be used with his...

Strange problem with traveller and windows xp

My system has been running flawless for about a year when it suddenly started to behave strange. I had taken my traveller on a small recording trip using it with my laptop without problem. At home after the recording I plug in the Traveller the same way as I have been doing the last year and BAM the...

Hello Rob
You say this could be a hardware problem? I am able to sync with toslink but not wc. How could it be that so many devices (or at least your 4 device and my single one) could have the same error? What did Motu say?

OK, sorry for not being able to expalin things more clearly - hw means "hardware" i.e. MOTU 828, Traveler etc - DAW is you recording program i.e. Digital Performer. My suggestions can be done without an outboard mixer. If you have an outboard mixer then there is many more options which wil...

Either you use a FirePort (firewire interface for the Alesis HD24) or you connect a lightpipe (ADAT) from the Alesis to you 828 and record the inputs in you favourite DAW app.

EDIT:
You hit play on the HD24 and record in Sonar...

OK. I do not use DP so this may be different in your setup. Let us say I want to record some vocals over some background tracks in my DAW program (in my case it is Samplitude). 1) I start the cuemix application which is a program from MOTU communicating directly to the hw. The cuemix looks like very...

1) You choose a mixtab out of the 4 available and rasing the input from the singer and choose an output pair i.e. channel 3-4.
2) The you route the output from you soundapp to the same output as you have chosen in cuemix and match levels to your liking.

I had my Windows on automatic update and about 20 patches and hotfixes were reported as succesfully installed. Owever, looking in the installation logs I discovered (KB885222 was also inlcuded) that none were installed... So, I will try to reinstall XP. My problem now is that I do not have accces to...
