DP 11 doesn't record (RESOLVED)

Hello Motufriends,

im working withe the newest version of dp11 and an ultraliteMk3-hybrid.
Since some times DP doesn't record with the analog inputs from my Mk3.
The Mic-Signal is hearable on my monitors, but in DP - it just records silence.
My Hardware-Settings seem to be ok.

When i try to record in Logic Pro, everything works ok, so it can't be a problem with the USB-Chip or -connection.
Any ideas what happens here?

Make sure that your unit is set as input/output. With DP 11.1, Follow System Audio Settings defaults to On. Uncheck that box and see if that fixes you up. You'll see that I leave it unchecked.

and all versions of DP over MacOS High Sierra and later. It’s a MacOS, not a DP thing.

You bet, I recently reinstalled DP 11 on my new Mac Studio Ultra, and I did not enable microphone permissions during the install.

I tried to record through my Apollo a few days later, and it would not let me.

After a few stumped moments I realized that I did not grant input permissions on the microphone, which apparently applies to any audio input device! .

You can adjust that setting on:
Preferences/security and privacy/privacy/microphone

By the way, I’m selling my UA OCTO 8 PCIe accelerator card and my Titan Ridge PCIe flashed TB3 card. In case anyone is interested.

Oh and my MacPro 5.1 and Apple Cinema Display 30” as well!

Nope... and never will be. I don't want to get caught in the middle if a deal goes south.

That said, you mentioned your selling it in your post and if someone wants to PM you... well I guess that works. Thanks for offering it to me first, but I'm gonna just hang tight until I can pop for a Mac Studio in a couple months. I'll probably go with the M1 Max version, however.

Just a follow up on this microphone permission thing: While I was migrating to a Mac Studio with Monterey 12.4, the first time I ran DP after setup I got a popup window asking if I wanted to allow Microphone permission, much to my surprise, since I have been keeping this issue in the back of my mind for a while. So yes, there is some kind of fail-safe along the way, but it is unfortunate that many people don't seem to be getting it.

Dear Mike, dear Greg,
you are absolutely the DP-Cracks!
The one thing with the microphone-permissions was finally the solution!
As i've seen there, a lot of my sound application did lost their permission (Kontakt, Sound Studio, etc.).
Seems to be OSX-Update-issue, i never got that problem before.

Dudes – just following up with this lingering issue (as of 12/23). This just saved me from the same dilemma. I had just switched to Sonoma, but didn't make the connection that a microphone security setting would mess up my DP setup. I tried my same Scarlett Solo in GarageBand and Audacity, and it was working, but not in projects I had fairly recently recorded in DP with the same setup. Man! Thanks for this.
