Just read a review about it in this month's Mix. Looks like the touch-screen revolution is here.

With any UPS you need to add up your total load before choosing the unit. Calculate everything in watts, converting amps to watts if necessary (P=ExI; where P is watts, E is volts, I is current in amps). Your voltage should be 110 to 120. Once you have your total watts, choose a UPS that exceeds you...

It would be sweet if the Meter Bridge had the ability to display the levels of anything in real time, independent of buffer settings. I have a slower machine and I have to set my buffers higher when mixing which makes my GUI slow--including meters. Quick meters with a high buffer setting would be ni...

There are problems with the release. Users are reporting kernel panics and plug-ins not working.

Might want to wait on this one.

Cherry Picker will help you create patch lists that can be used in CoreMIDI (e.g.: DP). Cherry Picker allows you to create as many lists as you like for each device. You can create a list that organizes your patches by type (Basses, Synths, Percussion, etc). You can create a list that organizes patc...

If Unisyn does not have a profile for your specific device, then it will not work. There is no way around this. Similar device profiles are not compatible. There are no generic profiles to work with any device. MOTU will not create a profile for your device. Sound Quest MIDI Quest is the only "...

Could you elaborate on your source? Did you ask TASCAM? Did a company rep tell you? It's not that I doubt you, it's just...well, maybe I doubt you a little.

Those units are difficult to find. None of the major stores have any in stock. I thought I saw one site that said the product was discontinued. TASCAM has no mention of it on their site.

I don't want to start a rumor, but maybe they are working on an MKII version with an LCD strip.

I am glad that helped. Just take note that you can use different kits with different Device Groups. What I did was create a Device Group and name it the same name as the patch in my synth. Then created the drum kit in the Drum Editor with same name as well. So, I select the Device Group "D01 Te...

I checked the link to PS, but couldn't find any specific information of how the sounds are organized. When you say: "...Plugsound Drum&Perc VI provides whole mapped kits etc for each bank," is that similar to a mapped drum kit on a patch? In other words, when you select a patch or prog...

I'm not familiar with "Plugsound VI" but I have a similar situation with a hardware synth. It does not have any patches in DP or CoreMIDI, so I used CherryPicker to get my patch lists showing up in DP, but not drum kits with instrument names. In the Drum Editor, since it uses note names fo...

My issues have gone away, also (mostly). If my projects have a lot of PoCo plugs going, pushing the limit of the PoCo PCI card, then DP will quit. I have to keep an eye on the DP processor meter also, because too many native plugs will cause the meter to get "jumpy", then eventually DP wil...

giles- Not familiar with the audio stutter. Could it be your CPU? Are you getting any processor spikes along with the stutter? Sometimes I get spikes followed by a message that the audio has an error and needs to shut off (or stop playback). This could be something else, but dropping the load on the...

Thanks for the tip. I've been getting my projects to work fine. Caution is definitely needed when using the PowerCore in OS X. If I start loading up on the PoCo plugs, then DP starts acting "shaky". I had a spinning beachball hang when I tried to add a PoCo plug during playback. I still th...

PowerCore causing DP to crash

I am working on some old projects (DP 2.7) with TC PowerCore plug-ins. Some projects have a lot of these plug-ins going and when I am working with them DP will unexpectedly quit. Also, when I first open them in DP, sometimes a TC PowerCore message pops up with out of memory messages. If I keep worki...
