Re: Weird problem with audio files...please help!

Thanks guys-- I'll check it out.

I bought the computer new last May (drives were pre-installed). Could they really be on their way out? I haven't done much intensive work on them...

Re: Weird problem with audio files...please help!

Deleting all the old audio files and soundbites didn't fix anything....the file still opens up looking wacky. Here's the normal audio tracks (which I retrieve after doing 'delete, then undo'): http://a.imageshack.us/img97/9718/goodf.png" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; ..and ...

Re: Weird problem with audio files...please help!

I just repaired all the disks and permissions-- still a problem, although right now it could be just this specific file that's the problem (I tried saving it under a different name but no dice). Even after I've restored the complete audio tracks by doing the 'delete then undo' dance, whenever I open...

Re: Weird problem with audio files...please help!

Here's something-- So I'm essentially mixing and mastering in the same project folder where I did the MIDI recording. After bouncing several times and then deleting the files, I think there are problems being caused because the audio files are not actually 'deleted'-- in order to fully remove them I...

Re: Weird problem with audio files...please help!

I'm recording to a 600GB internal drive that's only about 10% filled. Mac Pro 2x2.26 Quad Core running 10.6.4. I'll run a permissions repair now. edit: just realized that I never moved the project folder to my actual project drive (it's on my desktop right now) so it looks like I've been recording t...

Weird problem with audio files...please help!

I've been mixing 9 audio stems in the latest version of DP 7. Three hours ago I'm doing all sorts of nip/tucks and slicing and dicing and EQ and I decide to EQ a specific region of an audio file...so I make a slight cut before and after the area so I can isolate it from the rest of the track. As soo...

Re: Monitor not responding to volume control.....

Okay, here are a few images. I'd like to know where exactly I need to apply the Deoxit once I get it. Here's the outside--it's a really small knob: http://img708.imageshack.us/img708/7448/1000143.jpg" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; The inside-- it's the small black tube that...

Re: Monitor not responding to volume control.....

Ordered what you suggested! (Deoxit Faderlube). Problem was there this morning when I turned everything on--trim knob completely unresponsive. Ended up sitting for about 5 minutes with the monitors on but no signal/music going through them. When I checked again after 5 minutes the problem was gone a...

Re: Monitor not responding to volume control.....

Thank you! I removed the back of the monitor and looked at the volume pot...I couldn't see a specific place to spray the stuff--the knob is a small black tube which then enters a small enclosed box that's attached to the board. So I put the back back on and turned it on and played some music...probl...

Monitor not responding to volume control.....

My left monitor isn't responding to the level control on the back of the unit-- I went to listen to some pieces today and noticed that the left monitor was MUCH hotter than the right. When I touched the trim knob on the back of the unit it corrected itself. Now this evening, it seems to just be stuc...

MIDI: you're correct, but once I got PLAY Platinum I went ahead and put back the audio bundle from version 6 since I won't be using Kontakt anymore for orchestral stuff.

Mr_Clifford: That does make sense. What should pre-rendering be used for?

Thanks guys!

Pre-rendering in DP6

How exactly does pre-rendering work? I've been messing around with it and it seems to greatly reduce the CPU usage upon playback, but when I go to record a track it shuts off pre-rendering and loads the instruments up again and goes back into real-time. Does it only work on playback and not recordin...

thanks martian. oh, I forgot to mention that the reason I'm using the 4.61 MAS bundle is because DP6 crashes immediately when trying to open Kontakt 2 with the version 6 bundle. But you're right, perhaps the bundle from version 5 would solve it....

turned beat analysis off and restored all the AU plugins to DP6 standard (except the MAS support bundle- it stayed at 4.61). Still no change. I timed the response times and it averages about 6-10 seconds of "thinking" before I can go on with my work. This happens when record-enabling/disab...
