Re: DP Clocking issue with Mac Tube - no aftermarket card in
Thanks, HC. I use a Lynx Aurora in my studio, but wanted to narrow down the issue to the most basic, stripped down version to see if the issue was persistent in that context (which it is.) I'm afraid it's a Mac Tube problem as opposed to a DP glitch. Needless to say, I'd rather approach a software i...

DP Clocking issue with Mac Tube - no aftermarket card in use
Greetings. We are having a continual serious issue with DP 8.07, OS 10.9.5, and a 2013 Mac Pro (Tube). Succinctly, the problem is the software will clock with the computer (I'm only using the built-in outputs) for a short time and then abruptly stop with a message pop-up: "Digital Performer is ...

Re: Clocking error message with DP and Maverick
You aren't telling us something. What is this audio hardware that is losing the clock? Appreciate your response and apologies if I was not perfectly clear. The audio hardware is the computer itself: "Succinctly, the problem is the software will clock with the computer (I'm only using the built...

Re: Back to DP7 from DP8 and no MP3 Export
Update: For what it is worth, I was able to get back the mp3 option in DP8. I think my problem was I initially tried to use the 3.99 version of L.A.M.E.. After a little websearch, I found a clue that suggested using 3.98 instead with Snow Leopard which is my OS (as opposed to Lion) which I did and w...

Re: Back to DP7 from DP8 and no MP3 Export
Hello, Same issue here. Installed DP8, but having to use DP7.24 until all my plugs are supported in 8. When I attempted to BTD in 7.24 after the 8 install, several of the options were missing, including L.A.M.E. MP3, per most of the posts above. If anyone has discovered whether there has been a fix,...

Re: Hard Drive Speed
Yeah.. max'd out is probably the way to go. I didn't buy the Mac Pro to see how slow I could make it run..
Good points from all. Thanks again.

Re: Hard Drive Speed
Thanks, gents. Appreciate the help. I was waffling on the 7200 because Fry's had a sale on the 5900's that made the difference between the two significant. Also, I don't slam the HD that hard with tons of simultaneous tracks, so thought it might be ok for my typical process. I have been hearing that...

Hard Drive Speed
I'm aware that the recommended drive speed be at least 7200 RPM. My question is whether that rule is still applicable given the advent of the latest drives boasting multi-terabyte space and 32MB cache (on many if not most), whereas the earlier drives had caches at around 8MB max when the rule was im...

Saving as MP3 file
Does anyone know where to acquire the L.A.M.E. plug in for using the Save As MP3 command? Can't seem to locate it.
Thanks.
Rick

New Boot Drive and Migration Assistant
I installed a new boot drive today into a G4, 1.25GHz dual. I used the Migration tool to take my apps from the old drive to the new one. Both are internal, by the way. Upon trying to boot DP 5.11, it gets to an "open" prompt. When I either choose a song file or hit new, or even cancel, it ...

MDD fan noise showing up in monitors
My config: Dual 1.25 GHz MDD DP 5.1 MOTU 828 I'm pretty sure this has zero to do with DP since the culprit noise is there whether or not DP is active. It starts a few minutes after I start the Mac and presumably when the fan(s) begin to come on. I don't hear the wind noise until after, so it may be ...

Got it!
The quick answer is "yes", it will work with DP5 and Tiger. It requires not only an installation of the Stealth driver (for Tiger), but also that driver must be configured with a mini-app supplied by GeeThree on their website which will enable the Mac to see the port as a dedicated MIDI se...

MIDI Time Piece II
This should be an easy question to answer although I can't find the answer in the manual or forums. I recently purchased a Stealth Serial Port for a Dual 1.25 GHz Mac to incorporate a MIDI Time Piece II interface that I've been using for years. My configuration looks like this: DP 5.1 Dual 1.25 G4/O...

Your responses and info are appreciated.
