Re: Graphics Card Question
Sounds like your graphics card is the issue. I believe that this graphic card may be under a repair extension from Apple. So I'd take your unit to a repair center and have them check it out. Best, Adam It says I have a ATY,RadeonX1900, which should be a pretty decent card. My monitor has been gettin...

Re: Mini Display Port - 2nd Monitor?
How many minidisplay ports on your machine? if there are 2 minidisplay ports and 1 DVI port, then on that particular card, 1 of the minidisplay ports is shared with the DVI port, hence only one device will work when connected. Try the other minidisplay port. Sometimes a restart, and worse case PRAM ...

Re: hard drive not showing up....
To the OP, the drive is dead, not going to be recoverable from any software. How do you know? Cause I see 20 dead hdds a day. It's my day job. Symptoms described fit perfectly. The key one about it not showing as formatted and having zero bytes. Just the same, I guess with out seeing/hearing the dr...

Re: hard drive not showing up....
The operating system defrags files less than 1GB on the fly, which is why they say Video files will can fragment a drive. To the OP, the drive is dead, not going to be recoverable from any software. If you're under warranty and want the drive replaced by Applecare, you will need to send that drive t...
Why should I use Digital Performer? Here's why: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v207/BlueHaze/logic_01_header_l.jpg That's a Logic Window, btw. ====
you don't have to do it this way thoguh. Because tracks are objects you can create multiple instrument tracks that...

Re: Propellerheads Record is a Game Changer
Sooshie, it would be great if you'd share! ;) My MIDI performances have not been that demanding, as I've mostly recorded sounds or use track automation and drawing for manipulating the parameters of VIs. Anywho. Sorry for the off topic James, but I've been using Logic and DP (less than Logic) for qu...

Re: Propellerheads Record is a Game Changer
Then there is something I don't understand about what you're asking. Editing velocities in DP seems the same to me except for the added tools for drawing, like the parabolas, random ramps etc. I think Logic's transform window is they're answer for that, but it's not as direct as just drawing the sha...

Re: Propellerheads Record is a Game Changer
Let me try to make it clearer. There is a command to learn a MIDI controller from your keyboard. For my example I'm using the mod wheel. You set this to be the quick automation controller, allowing you to 'perform' the host automation using the mod wheel on your keyboard. It would be great in DP for...

Re: Propellerheads Record is a Game Changer
Now that we have hijacked a hijacking thread. ;) In logic, it's usually easier to automate plugs and VIs by accessing the host automation, instead of MIDI ccs. So, I enable the automation track of the parameter to automate and then learn whatever controller I want. This is different than MIDI learn ...

Re: Propellerheads Record is a Game Changer
of course you can. That would be pretty dense if you couldn't. You can do it with any MIDI controller. But you can also simple use the velocity tool in the piano roll and click any note and drag up or down to change the velocity. A little yellow help tag will pop up next to the cursor with the amoun...

Re: Propellerheads Record is a Game Changer
Now, it will host VI's, but not plugins? That makes no sense. How is its MIDI? How is the editing in MIDI? Can you draw in velocity or Continuous Controller changes? I ask, because Logic has this bizarre horizontal edit bar for each velocity. You can't just draw in the phrase, but have to grab each...
