Re: Where are Preferences now located?
In the Finder, open a new window and go to your User folder, then hold the option key and select the Go menu (from the menu bar at the top of the screen) and select Library. Now you can see the previously-hidden User Library folder in the window. The MOTU prefs are in the User Library/Preferences fo...

FWIW, the command-key + up/down arrow patch change method works for me in Albino 3 and MX4, but not in Atmosphere or in the built-in MOTU vi's. It also doesn't work in my NI rompler vi's (stormdrum, morphology, gpo). Seems like it might not work in rompler-style vi's that have to load samples for th...

Question 1. First, using the scale below, describe yourself as a user: _4_ (don't be shy!) Caveat! I use DP every day in my work, but I'm a composer, not an engineer, and I have hearing damage. Some of the bugs listed here could be happening in my system and I wouldn't know it, so take my responses ...

Tonight I downgraded my Motu MIDI Drivers from 1.32 to 1.31 (per Shooshie's data collecting thread), and after a couple of hours of work in DP5, I've had no stuck notes. I've tried all the stuff that seemed to be causing them for me and others in DP5, and no sticking. Nada. I'll let you all know if ...

I forgot to mention in my previous stuck notes post - they only stick when I stop the transport in the middle of a note, i.e. on beat 3 of a whole note. If the notes reach their note-off point, they don't stick. This can happen in a 1 track sequence with 1 note in the track, using only a Motu VI lik...

Chiming in on the stuck notes thread: Since upgrading to DP5, I'm getting stuck notes for the first time. OK, I've had a few over the last 20 years or so, but in v5 I'm getting them every time I work. It's real intermittent, too. I've installed v5 on 2 systems, both G5's running 10.4.6. One has some...

Re: Audio MIDI Setup
Look in Username/Library/Audio/MIDI Configurations. AMS setup files are stored there, with the extension .mcfg.

Re: catogorized patchlist for triton
I have categorized .midnam files for both Programs and Combinations on the Triton Rack.
I have separate instruments set up in Audio MIDI Setup, one for Programs, one for Combinations. Email me at bart@phantom.com and I'll send you the files and some basic instructions.

Re: G4 to a G5
I don't know about audio track counts, but I have a MIDI version of The Planets that uses 32 tracks of MIDI playing through 4 instances of Garritan Personal Orchestra, some of it very polyphonic. On my Dual 1.8 G5 with 2 gigs of ram, it plays all the way through with no problem. On my Dual 1 Gig Qui...
