COMMENTS REGARDING: EZDrummer by Toontracks HELP?
I am looking for other user's who are using EZDrummer from Toontracks with DP 4.61 or DP 5.1. I have installed this plugin and have updated it to the latest version (at this time) which is 1.01. Unfortunately, the plug-in crashes DP 5.1 and MOTU Support has advised me that the problem is with the Toontracks Plug-in.
Toontracks Suppport has advised: "presumably you have the latest EZdrummer release installed (1.0.1). If so make sure that you turn off the drum animations from the help '?' menu in the top right corner.
Should you experience further crashes it would be useful for us to get
the exact details about the machine and circumstances. The easiest is
to copy/paste the crash log to us in an email."
I have followed ToonTracks support advise but unfortuneately, the plug-in is still taking DP 5.1 down although not as often. Before I send off a crash log to ToonTracks Support, I was wondering if anyone else is using (or trying to use) EZDRUMMER with any version of DP. If so, please post your comments. The drum samples are absolutely excellent with room sounds (when it doesn't crash and take DP with it). Very easy to use when creating as grooves are organized, and very EZ to incorporate your MIDI libraries into. I have a masive MIDI Programing Library from over 15 years of professional experience. Additionally, ToonTracks will be releasing DFH expansions for the plug-in which will make it awesome for sure, if I can only get it to stop crashing DP 5.1! Any help would be very much so appreciated and thank you in advance for reading my post!
Best Regards,
Geo

Whoa, James... dude... you're still back there on 5.01? Rip Van Winkle, get with the action. We're all enjoying DP 5.1 on MacTel towers, with all the bugs worked out, and the ability to run Logic and PT files natively, with their own plugins and VIs. Blindingly fast! 30 instances of VSO, Reason, MachFive, and...

I wish.

I've seen these and paid no attention to them because I knew of no one who had used them. I just head some of the demos, and I must say they were impressive. I do hope they get the glitches sorted out. These collections are instantly intriguiging and users deserve better functionality on Macs.
I am curious if these problems are strictly DAW related (working fine in Logic or PT and not DP?), OSX issues or what?

EZDrummer crashing DP 5.01 HELP.....
I am attempting to use the EZDrummer 1.01 plug-in with DP 5.01 but it keeps crashing on my Dual Mac 2.5 Ghz/5GB Ram OSX.4.7. Permissions repaired and all advise acknowledged and acted upon. Please read my previous postings. I guess I'll copy and paste the the crash report to ToonTracks as it doesn't seam like anyone is using EZDrummer with 5.01. Thank you in advance for your comments! Geo

EZDrummer help
Hi Bart! Well I'm glad to hear that someone is successfully using the EZDrummer plug-in. Was it easy to install and run, or did you need to mess around with it? Thank you!

Bart:
My approach to finding "a needle in a haystack" is to burn the haystack.
Since thenystranger is running 10.4.7 and has EZD working, there is hope.
Since you've repaired permissions to no avail, it is *likely* that there is an AU conflict of some sort. I make no guarantees with this, but it does sound worthy of exploration.
My suggestion:
1. Uninstall all third-pary AU plugins completely, leave DP 5.x intact. Trash your Audio Unit Info Cache.
2. First reinstall EZD with the original driver version to get it working with DP. If this works, try installing any driver updates to EZD to see if there is a problem. If there is a problem with the update, resinstall the original the earlier driver, trash your Audio Unit Info Cache again and proceed to step 3.
3. Reinstall your other AU plugs ONE AT A TIME, starting with the originial driver to get it working, and then updating those drivers where updates exist. Trash the Audio Unit Info Cache before installing the next plugin. Continue until all plugins are installed.
Doing the various versions of the plugin driver can reveal incompatibilities. Perhaps you have one or more third-party AU's which thenystranger does not. This would explain why it works on his system and not on yours. Burn that haystack!!
Make sure to quit DP before reinstalling each driver. You may even want to restart your computer as well.
Have you deactivated or deleted any fonts that came with OS X? It could be that DP or EZD is looking for a font that has been deactivated or deleted. Restoring or reactivating OSX fonts can fix this problem.
Keep a close eye on the AU caching as it rewrites itself with each new startup of DP to see if any error codes appear. Also, if there are any DP crash reports, scour those to see which threads are marked with the word "crashed". There will likely be some familiar word buried within the numerical jargon that will point to a specific plugin as the culprit.

EZdrummer not crashing... now
I repaired permissions and turned off the animation and away we went. THE GOLD in EZd is a live performance from someone, preferably from Chicago or Texas, on V drums. The assignmnets match up and all the dynamics translate better than anything that I can do on a keyboard. EZD could use a bigger library. I played a track for an engineer who has been recording for ever 10 years. He said "Where did you track the drums?",( since my studio is in an 8x10 room). Now he is ready to consider recording with MIDI instruments.
I run DP 4.61 on a dual 867 and an 828 OS 10.4 with Mach V running, Everb and a couple of Master works limiters, no more crashing. BUT, I cannot make EZD breakout onto 7 seperate tracks as its supposed to do. Big potential here.

DP5 user with EZ drummer...crashing
Hi all,
I was just about to post the same problem...then I saw this thread. DP5 is crashing with EZ drums after I attemp to build a user defined library. Crashes consistently. I just upgraded to from a G4 PG 500/384 to a macMini 1.6/2gig ram. Everything is wonderful except for this.
