Is there a key-command for scrolling through plug-in presets
I'd very much like to know if there is a way to scroll through and audition a list of plug-in presets on an audio track with a simple key command. It's such a drag to have to mouse through long preset lists.

I haven't tried this in other versions (I'm using DP 5.1).
On my system, if you single click the mini menu button, the mini menu appears and stays open. If you click and hold for a second and then release the mini menu opens and then closes upon release. I'm sure you already knew that, but I'm trying to be thorough.
So, if I single click the mini menu button then use the up down arrows, it will scroll up and down the menu. Command/up down moves me to the top or bottom of the menu.
I think this is an Apple default, but I'm not sure. I works the same way in the finder menus.
Hope this helps.

Sure, it makes perfect sense. I didn't understand that from your original post. AFAIK there is no way to do that, but if there is...I'm guessing a Hobbit might know how. (hint, hint)666 wrote:Thanks for the tip, Phil. I am aware of that kind of scrolling but what I'm really after is instant preset change. I'd like to hear the preset change every time I advance with the arrow, as opposed to just visually scrolling through preset names. Does that make any sense? I just woke up.

Wished for this for a while now.
With hardware synths, we're used to scrolling through presets and auditioning.
This is one of many reasons I feel we've been short-changed on the whole VI thing, and why I'm still holding out 'till it matures a little more.
Standardisation of automation and MIDI mapping would be a start.
Ah, the promise o fa simpler-to-use interface seems to have overpowered common-sense software building.
You start with the foundations, don't you? Methinks much of this stuff is built on sand.
Please excuse me while I yell this to the parties concerned (not)...
"Rocks is where it's at, people!"
Yup, rocks are good.
Rocks and bananas....
Sand's not good.
Especially if you get it on your banana!

FWIW, the command-key + up/down arrow patch change method works for me in Albino 3 and MX4, but not in Atmosphere or in the built-in MOTU vi's.
It also doesn't work in my NI rompler vi's (stormdrum, morphology, gpo). Seems like it might not work in rompler-style vi's that have to load samples for the next patch.

Man, I've craved walking on the beach for 20 years. Not kidding.Phil O wrote: Sand is good between your toes...at least the sand where I live.

As I read that, Phil, I went, "aaah...".
I'm sure I felt that sand...
You're right; it does feel good!

Sorry 666, but it looks like you may have to wait for some sort of... standardisation.

Thanks for your replies, folks. I just thought of an analogy. Imagine scrolling through channels on your TV. Click a button and the channel automatically changes. That's what I'm looking for. Doesn't it seem strange that such a basic function has been overlooked? I also find it strange that I've never read a single post asking for this feature. It really doesn't seem like some sort of unusual, esoteric feature, does it?
MOTU never replied to my question but I will still send my request to their suggestion box. You never know.

I totally agree with your thoughts, 666.
Looks like time is still needed for these things to all surface and get sorted.
Agreement b/w manufacturers on many things could take time...
I'm gonna hang out a year or two on the VI thing, methinks.
Mach V could be the only exception, especially if the new library means I could forego MSI and Ethno...
Thank you for submitting that request to MOTU.
Fingers crossed...
