Happy to hear they are still useful, and I'm not the only one still using one. I'm now a couple of weeks into the new setup and couldn't be happier! Thanks again for your expert guidance. My 828mkII lets me change those 8 Line In channels from +4 to -10. Bingo!

Re: 828mk2 - iMac hookup
First of all Mike, I apologize for calling you 'Mark' in my last message. I did have a further problem with this situation; having installed the TB3-TB2 adaptor, the 828mk2 FW was still not being seen. I wrote to MOTU about it, and they responded within hours. In case anybody finds it useful, here i...

Re: 828mk2 - iMac hookup
Thank you so much, Mark.
I've ordered the TB2-TB3 adaptor. Slowly getting there. Now if only I can get DP to recall the keycode so I don't have to enter it each time I open the software...but that's another topic!
All the best to you. You have helped me several times over the years.
Roger

Re: 828mk2 - iMac hookup
Hi Mike,
I stand most humbly (and rather embarrassingly) corrected. I've been trying to relocate the info that gave me the impression it had Lightning in place of TB....to no avail.
Thank you so much for your input and solution suggestions. I will locate a TB2-TB3 adaptor.
Best regards,
Roger

828mk2 - iMac hookup
Hi, I'm upgrading my system from a 2014 MacMini to a new iMac. Meaning I am now losing the Thunderbolt port and gaining a Lightning port. I'm still using an 828mkii interface, which I like to use because of its multiple analogue inputs. I've been using a series of adaptors to connect to the MacMini,...

Re: Motif MX49 into DP8 via USB
Hi Dave, Thank you so much for your guidance. Sorry for the tardy response...I have only just found the time to try your suggestions. But using them as a 'trial & error' crap-shoot, I achieved some success. Still not certain about assigning MIDI ins/outs versus audio, but I managed to see and re...

Re: Motif MX49 into DP8 via USB
Thank you HCMarkus, It was precisely the quote in the manual that prompted me to go for the keyboard. I do indeed have the driver installed. One Yamaha site brashly states "Add to this that the MX can act as its own AUDIO and MIDI interface with a simple USB cable. and you now will be able to c...

Motif MX49 into DP8 via USB
Hi, I'm running DP8 on a 2013 MacBook Pro, (Mac OS 10.9.5). I know it is all a little outdated, but it's functional. As a traveling musician, I'm trying to keep a portable system down to the bare minimum. I recently acquired a Yamaha MX49 to replace my Arturia controller , with the hopeful understan...

Re: DP 8, iMac migration to Mac Mini
Thank you so much for your guidance, Mike.
The new drive appears to have made a big difference. Not sure how long I'll run with this machine though, considering its sluggishness. But it'll work for now.
Best,
Roger

Re: DP 8, iMac migration to Mac Mini
Hi Mike, Thank you for your reply. You were right...there was some vital information missing from my query. I took note of your suggestion for an upgrade and just purchased a new external drive. The old one was running on USB 2. Currently transferring the libraries. The drive will be connected direc...

DP 8, iMac migration to Mac Mini
Hi everybody, I am (finally) moving DP from my trusty 2009 iMac (OS 10.8.5, 3.06GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 4 GB ram) to a late 2014 Mac Mini (OS 10.10.4, 2.6 GHz Intel Core i5, 8 GM ram). Running DP 8.07, lots of Kontakt 5 (Komplete 8), Ivory, etc. All sample libraries are on an external 1TBdrive. I am u...

Re: Microphone muting (DP/Audio Express)
Hi again,
Nope. Tried that. The CueMix track mute, even the master track mute, makes no difference. I had wondered whether it was to do with 'Audio Patch Through' on DP, but it doesn't seem to work either. Right now all I can do is unplug the mic...hardly practical!

Re: Microphone muting (DP/Audio Express)
Yes, I tried that. It is not muting the mic, even if the track is not record-enabled. Thanks for trying.

Microphone muting (DP/Audio Express)
Hi, I recently added a MOTU audio express. When connecting a mic to it (via Mic/Inst 1), and then into DP-8 via USB, I noticed the mic is always 'on' and able to receive input, even when the DP track select/rec enable button is not engaged. I didn't use to experience this with my 828 mk2. Probably s...

Thank you very much. That would explain it. I guess I'll continue to use Kontact for those files.
