hey, I realize I'm a little late here, but have you tried running the amp's slave out into your DAC? This way you would get sound after its tone stack but you don't have to worry about the cabinet or room ruining the sound. I haven't done it myself as my D180 won't put sound out the slave output wit...

I haven't seen much talk about them anywhere, but Groove Tubes makes great microphones. Their Class A FET models are in your price range too. They sell both large and medium diaphragm mics. I use a GT55, which they don't sell anymore, but uses the same capsule as the GT50. What you will find with th...

Ok, so I think I have a more detailed description of what this contraption is doing. I'm fairly consistent with my bass playing so really DP just shifts most of the track a little to the right, but there are some beats that it thought needed to be pulled earlier in the sequence. It appears that any ...

Quantize issues in DP 4.6
So, at the urging of a friend who is quite annoyed by my purist ways I decided to try to tighten up one of my tunes using the Quantizing abilities of DP. The Quantize option works awesomely for aligning my bass part to the drums, but I get this hideous artifact that occurs sporadically during the su...

Transient Response
Ok, so you all are going to think I'm crazy, but I'm looking for a way to slow the transient response on guitar tracks. Does anyone know of an Audio Unit that does that exclusively? You guys may be asking why I would ever want to do that, but its pretty simple. I'm sure one or a few of you have reco...

Heres the thing about HD size and seek time: A larger HD may have a longer seek time, but you will notice that the increase in that time is not linear with respect to increase in drive size. Take for instance the full stroke seek time. On a 250 gig western digital drive, it is 21ms on the average. I...

Works great on my G5 with 10.4.8. I've been meaning to upgrade to DP5 though, but I am going to wait until I have money, an interface that isn't crap (don't ever buy an M-Audio unit. . . they have the WORST DRIVERS EVER!!!), and most importantly, I am waiting for people to stop complaining about thi...

I use the M-Audio FireWire410 and I can tell you that the pres are OK. They are better than some budget stand alone pres out there (one example I am familiar with is also made by M-Audio). You will want to keep the trim knobs below 3:30 or 4 o-clock as around this position noise starts to enter the ...

It will actually do it if i'm on my first track adding my first plugin. With lesser buffer ratings I get clicks, pops, processor spikes... you know... all the bad stuff. I found that the giant buffer I'm running is the only way this thing will run smoothly. A new note... now, if I'm even looking at ...

This is not while recording, but durring playback. I did not say this was durring recording. I also said it never did it before, so why is it doing it now? The computer is an iMac G5 1.8 with a gig of ram and my projects are running at 44.1kHz and 24bit. There is no reason for there to be an issue w...
