Is DP 4.61 compatible with OS 10.4.8?

I just upgraded to 10.4.8 (as per MOTU's recommendations for DP 5.11) and now DP 4.61 crashes every time I try to make an audio selection. More specifically, MAS shuts down. When I try to reboot the audio system, I get stuck in a dialog box loop that tells me to change settings. But no change will bring MAS back. If I cancel the dialog box, crash!

Unfortunately, I have some older DP 4.61 files I can only open in 4.61. They use some MAS-only plugs that aren't (and never will be) UB. (Damn you Antares!)

Is anybody else able to use 4.61 with OS 10.4.8?

I'm using DP4.6 (not4.61) with OSX 10.4.8 on a 1.33 G4. I have no problems. What machine are you using?

Did you try repair permissions?

Works great on my G5 with 10.4.8. I've been meaning to upgrade to DP5 though, but I am going to wait until I have money, an interface that isn't crap (don't ever buy an M-Audio unit. . . they have the WORST DRIVERS EVER!!!), and most importantly, I am waiting for people to stop complaining about things that don't work.

Until then, its processor spikes, blips, clicks, etc. . . .

I use DP 4.61 and just upgraded from OS 10.3.9 to 10.4.8 and it works fine. However, I still have DP 4 and DP 4.12 on my machine and I tried to run a sequence in DP 4.12 and DP crashes. Is DP 4.12 compatible with OS 10.4?

DP 4.12 is not compatible with 'tiger' (10.4).

Thanks for the replies, guys. I'm happy to know the two can get along together.

When I upgraded to 10.4.8, I repaired permissions before and after. Then, I started having issues with DP5.11 crashing on startup. So, I trashed the preferences and resolved a few plugin issues related to some custom folders I had created. Now 5.11 is fine.

I will have to do some more digging around to see what the problem is on my end with 4.6.

By the way, my interfaces are an 828mk2 and a microlite.

HELP! DP 5 IS WORKING GREAT>

-- so don't wait forever to get DP 5. For me 5.11 is more stable and more efficient than any version of DP 4. (dual g4 1.3)
