Re: HELP!!! I'm going totally bonkers / Crossfades
All those of you old enough to remember Gilda Radner as Emily Litella on Saturday Night Live???..... Playing around with this a little bit more before knuckling down to a morning of actual music work, things are now working for me? I can't honestly figure why, though, as I didn't really change anyth...

Re: HELP!!! I'm going totally bonkers / Crossfades
I have an easy workaround, which is just to use two tracks and draw a fade-out into one and fade-in into the other, but it is weird? I had to do this once a long time ago on a really long crossfade—don’t even recall what version of DP. Nothing else worked. I had forgotten about that till just now. ...

Re: HELP!!! I'm going totally bonkers / Crossfades
Ouch I just typed a long detailed reply, but forgot to log-in, so I'm rewriting it and here goes again! Thanks everyone for all of the thoughtful and helpful replies! When I saw them this AM, I thought duh! of course that is the problem! But I went in and tried it both on my work Mac Pro ("tras...

HELP!!! I'm going totally bonkers / Crossfades
Hey I never thought I'd be posting something like this after using Performer for (30-something?) years, but... Trying to edit two pieces of audio, and all of a sudden, I pull an even crossfade between the two pieces of overlapping audio and it instantly defaults to a crossfade later than what I pull...

Airwindows GUIs/Wrappers/Skins
I was going through my (unfortunately!) massive amount of plug-ins in DP's preferences, trying to get rid of stuff that I don't use to maintain some semblance of sanity, and I came across a bunch of Airwindows plugins, which I had frankly forgotten all about. These are a massive plugin library that ...

Re: App to Analyze DP OS X Crash Report
Hey thanks for both of these terrific suggestions! I was just listening to a podcast with someone whose studio perished in the Palisades fire, and they were suggesting feeding your insurance contract into ChatGPI and it spitting out pertinent answers about coverage details. With a grain of salt of c...

App to Analyze DP OS X Crash Report
Does anyone out there know of an OS X app that would analyze crash-reports for us mere non-computer-savvy mortals? I get DP 11 crashes at least once a day, and while I can find the actual crash-reports after I restart, I have no clue as to how actually read/analyze them? I figured there must be some...

Re: Opening and closing plugin windows
I was “bumping” this to see if anyone has any further ideas or anything has changed in DP that I don’t know about!

Re: Export / Import DP's Preference Settings
I don't know much about computers, but the DP preferences are in two different libraries, so you have to look at both. Then some are under audio preferences, some under application support, and then some are under either Motu or Performer or whatever in both. Also you need to check Audio Application...

Re: Export / Import DP's Preference Settings
Probably no way to do exactly what you ask. But there are a few things along these lines you can do. I’ve dragged a copy of the preferences to a backup and then put them back in place after testing some settings. If there are changes in the DP version there will be instances where that causes other...

Export / Import DP's Preference Settings
Hi! I'm sure this has been answered before, but a search didn't turn anything up useful. Is there a reliable way to export DP's main-preference settings? You CAN export bundles, commands, and probably some other stuff I don't remember. It's an easy way to go back and forth between my Mac Pro and my ...

Re: Need some advice on reinstalling or upagrading DP on a new computer
I was almost exactly where you are a little over a year ago. From my experience… You will really like the M2 Mac Studio for running DP! I was already running the latest DP on my Mac Pro, but you'll definitely want to update to v11.33 for your Mac Studio. You don’t need to install the old one to upg...

Re: Pro Advice Wanted - multiple Audio Interfaces in DP11
Aggregate Devices always seemed like a "can of worms" to me. Between different devices, drivers, default sample-rates, you-name-it, it just seemed like something else (at least to me) to get in the way of your system and CPU working efficiently and at it's full potential. This is absolutel...

Re: Undo and plug-ins
One of the weirdest for me is Spectrasonics' stuff. If I am in the VI and hit down-arrow by mistake, it changes the patch... This has bitten me before too. Spectrasonics really should make this a pref, or at least make patch changes Undoable. Almost every other action in Omnisphere is Undoable, but...

Re: Help From Someone Who Uses DP with a Mackie MCU or HUI Control Surface
Hey thanks for that! That is beyond terrific, and really helpful considering what I'm trying to do. One question still, what does "Pre / Post-Roll" mean to a Mackie MCU? DP has pre-punch / post-punch record options, but I doubt that is what this is for, as none of the DAWs were doing that ...
