Aggregate Devices always seemed like a "can of worms" to me.
Between different devices, drivers, default sample-rates, you-name-it, it just seemed like something else (at least to me) to get in the way of your system and CPU working efficiently and at it's full potential.
This is absolutely a personal uneducated guess I need to add. No actually tests or anything.
My solution was to find the lowest-latency full-featured interface I could with extra ADAT banks, then using those (two banks of extra ADAT I/O) for any extra analog connections, as they don't need drivers, only one main single interface.
Also then no matter what studio you happen to be in that day, you don't need to be rebuild all of your input and output assignments in a project constantly.

On Windows, definitely since there's no support. It's been part of the macOS since the PPC. Sometimes, to do what you need, there is no other way.JSmith1234567 wrote: ↑Wed Nov 20, 2024 7:21 am Aggregate Devices always seemed like a "can of worms" to me.

There are some amazing products from audiomovers that we use, which sorta eliminate need for aggregate as they protect DPs' using a single interfaces driver, all the while enabling us to see other interfaces that are online. Inject is one and Omnibuss is another type. I personally would not wanna be without Inject. (and it sample rate converts to if we need it to)
All their stuff including the wonderful studio to studio connector ListenTo are on sale now sale.

Audiomovers is excellent, but in circumstances where you need bi-directional sharing of audio or don't want to pay for a subscription, the free Sonobus is very good.labman wrote: ↑Thu Nov 21, 2024 5:10 am There are some amazing products from audiomovers that we use, which sorta eliminate need for aggregate as they protect DPs' using a single interfaces driver, all the while enabling us to see other interfaces that are online.
