FastLane USB Extremely Slow
I have a FastLane USB hooked up to a Windows 7 machine using DP 8. The machine is extremely fast with a 18 Gb RAM. But when I route the FastLane through DP and into an outboard MIDI device, there is a delay of about 1 second before I hear what I played. I also have a Traveler via FireWire and using ...

Consolidated Windows Confusion
This question is likely common to the Windows & Mac versions of DP8... But in any case, my Consolidated Windows preferences don't have the Drum Editor or Song Editor highlited. I almost never use those windows and don't want to see them in the Consolidated Windows tabs. Nevertheless, they always...

Re: Traveler Starts Buzzing Until Power Cycle
It's just buzzing not like interference, but like a distorted guitar. Then the sound drops out entirely. If I switch hardware settings away from ASIO and back again or power cycle, it comes back... It's funny because at the start it sounds great, but drops out this way regularly after a few minutes....

Traveler Starts Buzzing Until Power Cycle
I'm using a MOTU Traveler in Win 7. Every few minutes the audio I'm hearing starts to buzz. Once I power cycle the Traveler, it's ok again. I'm using firewire power. Could this be the issue and maybe I need the external power supply? Or is it a clock issue, etc?
Thanks in advance,
Brian

Re: Patch Names in Windows
Thanks. Right, this is on Mac also. I've been using software instruments so long I forgot about it. I'd been thinking I had to edit .midname files.

Patch Names in Windows
Not having used Windows much for music before, I'm at a loss on how to publish my patch names to DP8. For example, I have a Yamaha Motif rack that I want to be able to select patches from by name in the Tracks window. How do I go about publishing these names?
Thanks,
Brian

Re: GM Instrument
It was a path issue. I didn't know about the "Additional VST Plugin Folders" preference since it's not on Mac. I added the folder for my Aria and Kontakt players and now it finds the plugins.
Thanks,
Brian

Re: GM Instrument
I'm thinking maybe this is a path issue. Maybe DP is not finding my instruments in the path. Any thoughts?
Thanks.
Thanks.

GM Instrument
I just installed DP8 Windows and am looking for a simple General MIDI instrument to use. I have Finale 2012 installed on the machine and it has the Aria instrument with Garritan Sounds for Finale. It's a VST instrument. I have the same thing on Mac and can use it in DP Mac. But it's not showing up i...

Windows Support When?
Any news on Windows support for DP8? The whole reason I bought DP8 was because of the promised support for Windows. I've been waiting about a year and I think anyone in my situation should get a full refund. Any news on the update or has this turned into vaporware?
Thanks,
Brian

Re: Where is the Windows Version?
You don't need scroll arrows in Mac OS, BTW. Just click and hold in the scroll bar above or below the indicator and the window will scroll. The little picture of an arrow may be gone but the function remains. Come on, this isn't what I mean. Of course you can do this, but the scroll arrows allowed ...

Re: Where is the Windows Version?
Nevertheless, scroll bar arrows appear in some apps. Presumably the designers thought they were helpful. The take away from the thread is that with any up to date tracking device and two fingers you can move a few pixels in any direction from anywhere in a window. That's true, but I still miss the ...

Re: Where is the Windows Version?
The arrows appear in some apps and not in others. I see them in DP but not in Safari. Perhaps whether to display them is determined by the app. You may be talking about something specific to DP. But they are no longer part of Mac OS X. See this thread: http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=1...

Re: Where is the Windows Version?
Scroll bars: if you miss them, turn the back on. System Preferences > General > Show Scroll Bars > Always Thanks, but this is not what I mean. I'm talking about scroll arrows , not scroll bars. They are those little arrows at the end of the scroll bars that have disappeared as of Lion or the last e...
