DP5 as Rewire Slave
Is it possible to make DP5 a rewire slave and bring audio and MIDI into Protools (HD) thereby running them both simultaneously? This was suggested to me recently and I thought it might actually be cool. I'd like to use some of the MAS plug ins and keep DP away from DAE altogether. I have not been us...

I feel your pain. I have a little utility that converts FCP sessions to Protools and I can't get it to work under PT7. I got PT7 so that it would work with DP under DAE and DP5 and I can't do the one little thing that services my biggest client. The RTAS thing is a drag because I upgraded to PT7 for...

My mistake; it was 4.6.1 with 10.3.8 and 6.9.2. I never went to 10.3.9 for that reason. I just bought a refurb. dual 2.5 and I'm maxing out the RAM (8GB Crucial). If all goes well I'll have DP5, PT7.1cs4 (or higher) Stylus RMX and Mach 5 all humming along together on one machine. Also trying a WD SA...

Hey. Hope you don't mind if I chime in. I just wiped the internal drive on my G5 dual 1.8 and installed Tiger, 10.4.6 combo updater and PT 7, and then immediatley ran the cs7 updater before even launching ProTools. Now it's very stable and faster. I've ordered DP 5 and I'm INTENDING that it work wit...

Anyone using 4.61 with Tiger 10.4.5 and DAE? I'm getting wierdness like plug ins not displaying and other stuff under 10.3.8 and thinking of updating. The Bride of Frankenstien is tracking well with 3 GB ram on my Dual 1.8 with and HD3 system but I'm ready to trash DP for the lag in productivity. Th...
Mach Five Graphics
I have also had this issue with Mach 5 after upgrading to Tiger 10.4.3 and
Mach 5 v1.2.3 with DP 4.61; no names in the preset window or anywhere in M5.

Re: BFD outs
Beta 1.5 build 21 is really cool. The ultra outs don't work yet, but the regular outs do. Fxpansion told me that in a V-rack, the instrument is outs 1-2 then you can add aux tracks and select other outs. When you set up your audio bundles (under studio menu) do the following; 1. create multiple; 2 s...

Re: Using another MAC for VIs
Bruce - I've got a G4 400 sitting around and I'm running out of CPU on my G5 Dual 1.8. With BFD, Reason and Mach 5, which would you recommend for the G4? Do I need a 2408 for the G4? This sounds so promising I'm ready to go out and buy MIDI over LAN. Any thoughts? Billy DP 4.6/PT HD3/192 io/G5 dual ...

Re: DP 4.5 and BFD RTAS
I use BFD in MAS with Rewire. I have an HD system but I run it through CoreAudio to monitor. After I freeze my BFD, Reason and Mach5 tracks I export as OMF and import into ProTools. This way I get multiple outs from everything! DP 4.52 still doesn't seem to work very well with DAE anyway. i then tra...

MachFive error -30605
Hey M5 experts. When I attempt to open an old Soft Sample Cell instrument imported with UVI extract M5 can't find the samples. I have no special characters and it works with factory instruments but not the one's I've built myself. I get a white window with an error -30605 and something about the pat...
