If you're using BFD in Digital Performer, you have to use AU, not RTAS. RTAS is for ProTools

Re: DP 4.5 and BFD RTAS
Actually RTAS is supposed to work in DP 4.5. However...it's still a bit buggy. My RTAS plugins seem to all work. RTAS instruments are another matter. It seems to me I read earlier that BFD under RTAS has display and delay problems (I don't use it myself). Stylus RMX definately has problems. Lounge Lizard works properly but there are interface display problems. The old version of Stylus seems to work properly. Hopefully MOTU will fix things soon.

Yes... we can hope they fix it soon.
But it's May now and BFD still is a RTAS no-go in DP.
Is there a way to get individual outs from BFD with DP?
Thanks in advance for any advice you can offer...

You have to run DP under DAE rather than MAS. If you have Pro Tools hardware (i.e. interfaces and cards) there should be no problem.Originally posted by daveyboy:

Re: DP 4.5 and BFD RTAS
I don't know-I'm on an HD Accel system. It seems to me that if the Digi 002r uses DAE and can access RTAS plugins then it should work in DP. Make sure that your audio system is running under DAE, the voice assignment for your audio track is set to automatic and that the RTAS plugin is not inserted after any non-RTAS plugin. If you can't make it fly then email or call MOTU tech support .Originally posted by daveyboy:

Re: DP 4.5 and BFD RTAS
So is it possible to use Rewire to get all outputs individually from BFD?
When I set up DP and BFD as a rewire client (All Outs)... I can get BFD to show up on an Aux... but NOT on an audio input track. The manual says it's a doable thing... I must be missing something.
Any advice on how to get BFD individual outs to appear?
I'm sure it's something bonehead that I'm missing.

Re: DP 4.5 and BFD RTAS
The only Digi hardware that use DAE under DP are HD systems. oo2r , mbox all run under MAS.
Dual G5 2.0 (pre-intel), 2408iii, DA7, WR-AD96, c1's, api312's, 10.4.10, DP 5.12, mach 5, Waves Gold., pc88, 2080, Reason 3, logic 8pro, Antares AutoTune, red lava lamp
Re: DP 4.5 and BFD RTAS
I use BFD in MAS with Rewire. I have an HD system
but I run it through CoreAudio to monitor. After I freeze my BFD, Reason and Mach5 tracks I export as OMF
and import into ProTools. This way I get multiple outs
from everything! DP 4.52 still doesn't seem to work very well with DAE anyway. i then track and mix in ProTools. It's creamy groove love pony smokin' monkey jam. ©2005 Little Webb Music
