DP6 Spectrasonics Workaround

I've found a workaround to get Trilogy and Atmosphere running fine on DP6. The 6.0.2 update didn't change anything, by the way. You need the VST installer for Trilogy and Atmosphere, and Fxpansion's VST to AU adapter ($49). All you have to do is use the VST to AU adapter to create AU's using the VST...

Nice, thanks. Do you know how the TC data can be transferred along with the audio from DP to ProTools?

Slaving DP5.12 to TC from Camera - ProTools Friendly

Hi all, I will be recording a concert soon and I'll need to record 4 ch. of audio into DP while slaved to TC from a camera. I'll be using the 828 mkII. How easy should this be to pull off, assuming that I can most likely avoid any real headaches? I believe the cameras won't be shooting constantly, s...

Hallelujah!!!

MOTU COMES THROUGH!!!

I though I was going to have to switch to Logic since DP started crashing almost everytime I edge edited or crossfaded or even hit undo.

Now in 5.1 this all seems to have been fixed! Now it's back to work.

Re: DP Crashes Every Time I Try to Save My Project.

Upgrade to the newest version possible. I think you can go to 4.6 without paying extra. Try trashing your preferences. Take all plugins out of the plugins folders (components, mas, vst) and start performer. See if you can save a project before recording. Just mess aroung with the number of tracks or...

Re: More things to avoid

One of the great things about DP is that it will let you do most anything while the sequence is playing, unlike Pro Stools. Most things work without a hitch, and other just make the audio studder a little, however there are certain things that you must avoid generally when the wiper is flying. Actu...

by the way, with the new track enable button in DP5, you no longer need the "mute frees resources" setting since you can very easily either just mute a track or disable so it free's resources.

hmmm. Are you using the built in audio ins and outs, or an external interface?

I remember having some issues with my old G4 1.5 Powerbook, but they wouldn't happen if the buffer wasn't too low, and if the system load was low.

Update

Okay, so after using reason more extensively, I found that after playing whatever open instruments for a minute or so, the artifacts disappeared amazingly. That was at a 512 buffer which had only a few pops. Then I turned it down to a 256 buffer and... no artifacts again. So i;m assuming the artifac...

more on macbook

I would go with papa on this one for sure. buying a G4 now is a major step down compared to the market for the past few years and especially now. Don't get me wrong about my earlier post, my new macbook is definitely noticably faster than the G4's. When using a non UB version of Reason with my MBOX2...

Some Macbook info

Just a bit of info on the new Macbook. I have been through 3 already! I do love this machine and it is very fast and relibale. I just had a rough start. The first one had all of the problems mentioned in posts on Apple's support site. The noisy whistling processor and chainsaw power brick, intermitt...
