Well Hello again,
Since I'm very new to DP6.01 (on Tiger 10.4.11), I've noticed Atmosphere and Trilogy v.1.2.4 don't track MIDI very well - notes dropped, etc... The only crash I've had involved one of Spectrasonics intruments.
Is this the status-quo at the moment concerning these two instruments? However RMX works just fine.
Has anyone else noticed this, or are they working in good health on your system? Tiger?
Muchos thanks, Greeny.

Re: DP6.01 and Spectrasonics?
Spectrasonics put out a wrapper for Intel Macs that worked for some but burned for others.
Atmosphere appears to have been replaced with something called Omnisphere. I have no idea what the latest news is on Trilogy, but at last report it wasn't supposed to really work.
Yeah, RMX allegedly made the cut.
You should probably contact Spectrasonics for all the details about updates and compatibility for OSX first. Then you can delve into the DP layer of this, which is a whole other ball of wax.

Re: DP6.01 and Spectrasonics?
Nope, Atmosphere and Trilogy are not compatible with DP 6.01
I had the same problem with the same configuration, you have a very problematic combination,
in my own experience and IMHO
The only terrain to drive well spectrasonics AU and DP 6.01 its on Intel, Mac Pro/ 10.5 x
The new atmosphere its call now Omnisphere and it is amazing,
they have no news about the new Trilogy but i hope they release any info on NAMM.
Otherwise, wait to Santa Claus and see if he bring to us DP 6.02 and .... and.... and.... and....

Re: DP6.01 and Spectrasonics?
Thanks for the replies, folks!
I thought I smelled something fishy about my setup which I'll admit is pretty prehistoric compared to what most people here on the board use; however with DP6.01 offering the pre-rendering on the Virtual-Instruments I've been able to dabble with some of the latest versions of my favorite plugs and instruments such as the Korg Legacy, some Native Instruments pieces and the Powercore Firewire, and with great success.
It's all very modest by todays standards (G4 dual 1.25) but in case of real need I can always go back to my trusty DP4.61 on OS 10.3.9. In my music I rely mostly upon my acoustic guitars and not so much on the electronics although I love what the new Motu Leveler does when I buss it through an Aux-Input - guitars become alive, loud, clear and super fat! The Most brilliant plugin I've used since ages!
I've become involved with Flamenco (Jazz) for a bit over the last two years by the way - the most demanding of guitar styles I've ever come across with - bar none - it's really all in the grooves and in the rhythms! Compás!
Olé! Cheers! Greeny.

Re: DP6.01 and Spectrasonics?
I've found a workaround to get Trilogy and Atmosphere running fine on DP6. The 6.0.2 update didn't change anything, by the way. You need the VST installer for Trilogy and Atmosphere, and Fxpansion's VST to AU adapter ($49).
All you have to do is use the VST to AU adapter to create AU's using the VST plugin files. Throw out or disable the regular AU's since they no longer work in DP6. Also, move your .dat files to the VST plugins folder or create new aliases there. Somehow the converted VST's work fine in DP6. Enjoy.
