I Need a VI. M5?
I don't want to carry that 50lb Korg Trinity anymore. I have my Axiom 61 and my PB 1.5 maxed out on RAM. I play rock music and need an acoustic piano, electric piano, B3, a good underlying pad, a couple of synth leads, and an arpeggiator. Is MachFive the beast I need? and do I have the horsepower to...

Purchase DP 4.61?
I thought I saw a thread on here stating that one could still purchase 4.5 and download the update for 4.61? I want to get out of 4.12, and off to 4.61 which I have read seems to be the most stable version since 3.11? MOTU only has 5.1 upgrades listed on their site. Anyone know the answer? Thanks, D...

How to get DP to launch?
I know this is probably a simple issue, but I don't know how to fix it. Up until now, I didn't use my Powerbook for intensive DP tasks, so I just opened on my main user account. Now I will be using it for live backing tracks, and want a separate user account for DP. I created it, but when I try to l...

Suggestion on interface?
What would you suggest for an audio interface for my live rig, I only need four outputs (stereo FOH, stereo drummer headphone send). It doesn't need to have MIDI as my Axiom 61 already has that for me. Basically I'm trying to avoid using the laptop outputs, but want a higher quality audio signal. Bu...

Which DP Version/OS Version combination for Live Use?
Which is most recommended and stable at this point? I'm currently running 10.3.8 and DP 4.12. The usage would be to trigger backing tracks for a live band, and to send a click track to the drummer, maybe eventually getting into some lighting control. I also use my Korg Trinity to play B3 sounds, Pad...

Which MIDI Controllers?
I would like to get the opinion of the wise ones on this board as to which MIDI controllers you would recommend. I will be using DP for live performance and cueing chunks (I have been playing with this aspect for the past couple of days). I already have a Korg Trinity for input, but it is heavy. So ...

One thing I have had a hard time grasping is the relation of songs..chunks...and sequences in DP. To date I have just done audio and MIDI recording in sequences and that is about it. How are you guys using these during a live setting in the instance where you would have multiple songs using backing ...

DP Live
I have used DP to record some projects, mostly audio, but would like to use it as a live MIDI sequencer and for backing tracks. I have the demo copy of Ableton Live and was messing around with it, but I could save the money and buy a controller or maybe reason instead. So my question is, for those o...

Recording A Band
I'm recording a band from my church with two electric guitarists, bass, acoustic guitar, drums, and vocals. I'll add some keyboard stuff later to fill in the holes. I read the thread about "Sick of Stereo Guitars" and already acheived some insight. This is the first time I have recorded a ...

Recommendations for Tracking Drums in a small room
I would like to track a kit in a room that is 10'X11'X12' high. I'll be miking the snare, hi hat, bass and using studio projects c4's as overheads. Are there any considerations I should take on the placement of my overheads in this small room?
