Re: How can I use CueFX to setup seperate mix for monitoring
I run live sound (20 - 30 inputs) with Reaper and I currently use Cuemix for monitors (including in-ears). Not sure why. Guess I decided 2 systems were better than one? I'm annoyed at the lack of support (abandonment) of Cuemix though. Might switch monitor duties over to Reaper one of these times. H...

occasional 828mk3 crashes
Sometimes one of the 828mk3's will come up crashed. This happens maybe 1 out of 20 times you turn it on. Usually stuff like not showing up in the control panel or hiss or static on one of the outputs. Cycling power always works. Both 828mk3's do this. Well, tonight's gig was a weird one. MOTU #1 cam...

Re: Motu 828 Audio Dropouts
MOTU has one of the best repair programs. It was $80 flat fee after warranty last time I checked. Call them up to get a RMA and sent it in. Well worth it.

Re: 828mk3 Phone Monitoring Issue
I think there's some bug with sending the computers sound output to the interface via core audio. I had the same issue with the 10x volume. Now, I was running the interface at either 96k or 48k and the files being played by Songbird were 44.1k. I assumed that perhaps the problem might be due to some...

Re: 828mkIII and DP3
I feel ya on DP3. snip Hello Jim Very kind of your replying to my post... But the question remains still open. Can I use within DP3 FW OS9 drivers for the 828mkIII audio interface? Sorry I wasn't clear enough. No you can't. I'm certain that MOTU has moved on and will not be writing one. My o...

Re: 828mkIII and DP3
I feel ya on DP3. This was the most stable DAW that MOTU ever wrote. A 100% perfect software experience for me - not one single negative issue. I was bummed when I was finally forced into the newer versions too. DP4 was basically DOA for stability. DP5 was better but not even close to the stability ...

Re: Is there any way to make 8 mono mixes?
Certainly I could use the main mix DAW for monitors too. I want to keep the monitors on Cuemix though. This really looks like a big oversight - the hardware is right there but you just can't get your hands on it completely. I'm running with 6ms total latency on the main mix right now and I don't wan...

Re: Is there any way to make 8 mono mixes?
Something tells me that running a 2nd DAW in direct mode while I'm running a full mix with plugins in Reaper isn't going to fly. We'll see.Dwetmaster wrote:I'm sorry if I didn't read your post properly. If you use DP, you could do your routing from DP and use direct hardware playthrough.

Re: Is there any way to make 8 mono mixes?
If your talking about cuemix FX Firewire, then you have 8 separate mixes Mix 1 is assigned to the first stereo pair and all its channels are panned hard left and this is your "mono 1" Mix 2 is assigned to the first stereo pair and all its channels are panned hard Right and this is your &q...

Is there any way to make 8 mono mixes?
I'd really like to make 8 mono mixes instead of 4 stereo with the 828mk3 and Cuemix. I thought I'd just assign each output pair twice and pan but you can only assign once.
I'm talking about the line outs (1-8). Yes the mains and phones are busy already.
Anyone?

Re: What other software choices for running the "Cuemix" mix
So, what you're saying is use the audio lab tools to write my own. I guess that's fair. No, that's not what I said. Only CueMix FX, Digital Performer, AudioDesk, and the Windows versions of Cubase and Nuendo are capable of controlling the 828mk3's direct monitoring mixer. If you don't want to use o...

Re: 896 Mk1: Blinking System Clock 44.1 light on power up
Well, you eliminated the cable as suspect. That was the 1st step. Get ahold of service. Sounds like hardware failure. Something's failing when it heats up. MOTU has a great repair policy - $80 flat fee (after warranty). I've had an interface go down twice in 10 years (2 different ones, not the same ...
