Motu 828 Audio Dropouts

Post by Yakipro »

I'm new to this forum and I would like to know if anyone else has experienced what I'm dealing with right now. I have a Motu 828 MKll and it recently has started to intermittently drop out the audio. No particular function is going on when it happens. Tracking, mixing and even recording it just drops in and out for no reason. I'm using a Mac with Logic and I've tried raising the I/O Buffer and even reinstalled the drivers. To confirm the issue with the unit I hooked it up to my PC running Cubase and it does the same thing.
I also should mention all this seem to have started when the lcd screen went out. At first I figured as long as I could continue to use it I'm ok, but then that's when it began. If anyone else has experienced this please let me know what or if anything I can do aside from putting it in the shop or just abandoning it and get a new one. If it needs repairing is it worth it? Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

MOTU has one of the best repair programs. It was $80 flat fee after warranty last time I checked. Call them up to get a RMA and sent it in. Well worth it.
