how to make m5 crash...

Post by bongo_x »

import sample, select a section, selection to loop, change loop type to "alternate with crossfade". it will crash DP511 for me every time.

g5 dual 2g, os 10.4.9

also, I saved a preset of my own in m5. when I pull it up it's correct but the filter section is all set to defaults even though I can hear them. in other words, it says "no drive" and the knob is at "0" but I can hear the drive. if I turn the drive knob it changes, still saying "no drive". same with all the filter settings, they're all at defaults, but I can hear the sweeps and such that I set up. clicking on the knobs and moving them doesn't do anything to correct it.

I'm very new to m5 so I may be doing something wrong. I've actually had it for a year or two but have never really used it much. I'm trying to see if I can use it for the way I like to work.

thanks for your help

Here is what I did:

••• Imported a sample
••• Selected a section
••• Set selection to loop
••• Changed loop type to "alternate with crossfade."

Result: Works great.

My system:

G5 PPC, 4GB RAM, Dual 2.0, OS X.4.9, MachFive 1.2.3; DP 5.11

You can't be on an Intel Mac with MachFive, the only thing that might be different from my system would be RAM.

I deleted all the other plugins and restarted the computer and reloaded m5 and now it's not crashing. who knows?

the thing with the preset not showing the settings is still there though, but it's just the one preset. I made another one and it's fine.
