Registration window key code DP 5

Post by wcroes »

I am trying to open DP 5 for the first time and I get the registration window. When I introduce my name and key code the program does not open. I get the same window again. I have tried like 100 times. It is like is not accepting the key code is in the user's manual. Wrong key code? Problems with the installation disc?

are you sure you are using the key code in the back of manual? There's a serial and a key code--you want the keycode in the back of the manual

If you have the DP5 install disk, and keycode isn't working, then you need to call MOTU.

There used to be a minimum for the number of characters in the name.. make sure you have enough of them...

I can understand that you're in doubt about a person with just 1 post, but this can be a legitimate new owner.

It once happened to me (yes, with the original disk inserted, the name with at least 3 characters, and the correct code) and no matter what, the registration window kept coming back.

Repaired permissions with Disk Utility and the registration process completed sucessfully.

make sure you don't mix up the letter 'O' and a zero '0'

The original post asks if it's possible he has a bad installation disk. And there are four possibilities I can see:

1. Not placing the install disk in the machine when entering the key code.

2. Mixing up the number 0 and the letter O.

3. The installation was bad or permissions need to be repaired.

4. The install disk itself is a problem and needs a replacement.

he didn't mention that he had the disk in the drive or that he knew that it was needed for that matter but i guess you just told him what the manual clearly states ASSUMIMG THAT HE HAD A MANUAL!

i was about to tell him when i realized that he hadn't mentioned the CD so i figured he could either call MOTU or re-post and phish some more.?

Uh, he said the keycode in the manual was not working. In all actuality this happened to me too with DP5. Repairing permissions fixed and then entering the keycode after that worked fine. As he wasn't asking for a keycode, I don't think he was phishing.
