is dp5 intell ready?

Post by jgest »

I did not see any info on motu's site, I guess it is not ready yet?
If I want to run dp on a mactell, will I have to upgrade to 5, would be nice if a 4.65 version for intell was released......
Macbook pro, 3 gigs of ram, osx 10.62, Dp 5.13, Live 8.1.2, Reason 4, Tc powercore Virus, Albino 3.02, proper ergonomic sitting posture, plenty of coffee (french press only with a pinch of cardamon added)
My dp inspired music.....

Sorry no. And, even if it were, I have dozens of 3rd party VI's and FX that would also need to be ported. Personally, I don't see using a MacIntel box for the next 2 or 3 years.

:( that is a long time......
I was hoping to see Dp/abelton/Tc-works/reason ready for intell by late early fall 06........

I think qo is speaking for his own personal set-up.

Supposedly, DP will be Intel-ready by the end of this year (2nd quarter). More and more third-party apps are introducing Universal Binary versions every day. I'd guess that by early next year most things will be ready, perhaps even earlier, albeit most won't be extensively field tested by that point. Early fall '06 might be a bit too optimistic though.

 yeah your right, I'm fried from my 2 year old and did not synthesize the post correctly............

But anyway's I am a little bumed, I'm not an engineer, but a musician and live soft synths is where it's at. But the performance is a big issue without the intell boost.......

Macworld article said end of second quarter for DP universal binary. . .

MOTU also confirmed for Macworld that it would be making Intel versions of its applications available for customers. The company said that Intel versions of its instrument products would be available in the first quarter of 2006. An Intel version of Digital Performer 5 will be available in the second quarter of 2006.
