Shooshie,

It's good to hear your virtual voice again. It is appalling that people whizzed right by you without stopping. What if you had been out there alone? How can anyone be that selfish or uncaring? But at least there was one good person out there who did stop and help, so that guy deserves some kudos.

Anyway, here's hoping for a speedy recovery and a return to normal.

As long as you don't make smooth jazz... hehehe

My apologies to any smooth jazzers out there. I could use some right about now as it's late and I'm trying to get to sleep... hehehe

<ducking for cover>
I am more than willing to do smooth jazz, as long as I can do Bon Scott impersonations for the vocals.

I may as well duck for cover at this point, too.

James, it was really nice to see this thread pinned up at the top like this. Thanks for the support. It sure hit home and gave me a boost. But I'm home now and doing a lot better. Feel free to unpin it when you're ready. While in the hospital, I asked my son if he would let you all know that I wouldn't be reading posts for a while, because I had made some promises to some folks, and I didn't want anyone wondering why I skipped out on them. I never dreamed it would turn into this! I'm quite sure this is what has been making my hip heal so rapidly! :) I'm going to be up in no time. Well, ok... the doc says 6 weeks. But it's already been almost 2 weeks!

I haven't played a note of music since the accident. I guess I've been taking some time to figure out where I'm going. But now I'm starting to miss DP, Ivory, my Kurzweil keyboard, and that sort of thing, so I think it's all going to come back naturally without forcing it. When it does, you'll know, because I'll be back in the threads again. I can't resist talking about DP when I'm using it all the time.

So... it's up to you when you unpin it, but I just wanted you to know that it won't bother me to see it sink in the archives. Thanks!

Shooshie

Not to sidetrack from the subject at all!
What I want to say is that I check in here almost every day.
So the fact is that I tend to end up reading something from Shooshie almost every day.
This is about 10,000 percent more often than I have contact with my own mother (sad comment on my part, yet true).
I have been educated by Shooshie more than I can express - and we haven't even really corresponded in threads, not to mention any other method.
I have a huge interest in audio and DP (some might crazily call it an obsession) so this whole forum has touched my life.
Shooshie: please don't get freaked out by this post, but this whole episode has made me think about major stuff in general, and I wanted to say that I am glad you are exercising your sense of humor, and that you are on the road to recovery, and that i hope you can accept my thanks for all you do for us DP users around the world. It really is a very meaningful and selfless thing you do.
That is all.
P.S. I do not make new age music, in case anybody wondered after reading this. (grin)
Well said, mikebeckmotu.
I'll bet this is true for many Unicorns, both in terms of specifics, and in principle.

Man, truer words were never spoken.

How profound it is through the anonymity of avatars and usernames minus the befefit of eye contact and vocal inflection that we can still find ourselves so involved and so moved by the written (or typed) word.

Shoosh-- I may have mentioned it before, but if you know the film "It's A Wonderful Life", you'll appreciate how even the smallest things you do can have a deep and positive impact on the life of another, whether you realize it or not. You never know whose lives you touch.

More than just physical healing, may this be a time of productive soul searching and creative rejuvenation besides.

Keep on hanging in there!!

Best again,
Frodo
