Take care, man! Know that our thoughts and/or prayers are with you. We'll miss your ability to make even the most heated OT discussions funny! Enjoy your hospital food, too. It will make you appreciate home all the more...

Thanks, James.

Heal like the champion you are, Shooshie.

Your incredibly balanced insightful self shall be greatly missed.
I sense much goodwill heading your way from many here.

May I suggest you try "pigging out" on barley powder when you get home?
I know of a fella who rebuilt one of his hips that was completely destroyed by cancer.
I think he took 12 tablespoons a day. At any rate, I'd maybe look at a quadruple-dose or more.
Vitamin (esp B5) supplements, while OK, are a burden.
You wouldn't believe the sources these people use; B12 from feces, for example.
That in itself is interesting, as B12's supposed to be produced in the intestine as a by-product of having the correct bacteria in the gut. (8 types, FWIW).
The concentrated chlorophyll in the barley contains eveything you need except for water, as it's dried.
Obviously you'd need to crank the water intake too, as you'd be simultaneously discarding old and building new material/tissue.

After testing every form of supplement you can imagine the last 3 decades, this advice/solution is the simpest I can offer in all respects.
Whatever rehab. you do, raw materials will be required!
To my mind, they're at least as important.
Rehab. without nutrition? Will never work 100%
Nutrition without rehab.? Food(!) for thought.
I've proved you can get fitter and lose fat lying in bed, as long as you "eat right."
People will want you to push your body soon.
I'd feed your body "right", stretch carefully and concentrate on getting some sort of walking motion happening.
No need to push hard; let pain be your guide.
Your magnificent Shoosh-bod will do the rest.
Hey, the app that "built" you is 3.1 billion bits long.
Gotta be something in there for a broken anything, methinks.

Many will scoff at this seemingly simplistic advice.
I've saved my own life with nutrition enough times to know the truth.
This is for Shooshie. If you don't like it, that's fine!

I'm replacing my daily Mach V chant for now:
Go Machy! K2 Killer! Go Machy! K2 Killer!
Becomes...
Go Shooshie! Broke-Hip Healer! Go Shooshie! Broke-Hip Healer!

We'll all have to contribute an extra X% to help fill the unfillabe gap.
Please get well, mate.

This dilemma provides the perfect opportunity for solving a long-time problem I've been working on...

Problem: How to install Shooshie v1.0 as an interactive, sax-playing, humour and wisdom dispensing, troubleshooting application at the Nation.
That way, heaven forbid, should you ever disappear for a while, we'll only be a double-click away from ShooshMeister Nirvana. OK, Shangri-La!
Solution: Rocket-scientist Unicorners unite and contribute:
We'll need brain-scanning and bio-rhythmic analysis equipment, a massive storage space, lots of coffee and Timeline's monthly peyote treatments.

Creativity and kindness seem to be our greatest resources here.
They'll be required in order-of-magnitude measures.

(Resumes chanting)
Go Shooshie! Broke-Hip Healer! Go Shooshie! Broke-Hip Healer!

Classic. How do you find these things, Frods?
Somehow, the hobbit comes through with the goods... again!
Hope Shoosh gets a laugh out of that one; I mean, it could bring on nightmares!

Have you seen his wife? It explains a lot, methinks:
I can' seem to post pics, but here she is:

A worthy contribution, indeed!

Good call, npatton; let's hope he gets out of there alive!
I'm convinced it's a ploy to ensure a more enduring, lucrative visit. :?

I'm sure Shoosh apreciates all our well-wishes and Unicorn-flavoured "humour".
Cheers, npatton.

24 hours of chanting to get through 'till I return...

Boy, I should get out and start doing some athletic stuff outdoors! Way to go not spending all your time on this forum and on your computer. I'm sure it's worth the risk in the long run. You'll heal up and it'll just be a story. Hope the pain is mild. Get well soon.

Shooshies Shon,

Please tell your Dad that I wish him a quick and speedy recovery.

He may not like my avatar, but I still like him.

I bet he'd like a printout of these get-well wishes. It could brighten his day in that dreary hospital bed.

Get well soon, Shooshie!

Son of Shooshie,

Please pass on my best wishes for a speedy recovery. I'll organise another chilli delivery (that stuff'll help anything that ails you) but you have to promise you won't ambush it, OK?

Dave.
Lots of stuff and a recently acquired ability to stop buying
