Using what software? The more information you include with your inquiry, the more information we can give back.

Can i do it within the setup function on the device? If not, what software will i need? The Cuemix seems to deal with INPUTS so not too sure if thats what im suposed to use?

Thanks

I don't have an Ultralite, but I don't believe you can set up outputs just within the device. As far as I know, you'll have to tell your recording/playback software what tracks need to be sent to which outputs.

Again, we need to know what equipment you are using, and what you intend to use it for, in order for us to be of any real help to you. I can't tell if I'm leading you in the right direction if I don't have a clear idea of what your setup is and what you want to achieve. :D

Let me know and I'll do my best to help.

Ok let me explain alittle more. I have the M audio monitors and a logitech 5.1. I want to beable to use both sets of speakers to play music in itunes. With my old M-audio firewire solo card i just plugged the logitechs into the headphone port, worked fine.

You should try Jack OSX, lets you route inputs and ouputs...

That sounds like what you might need.

Not too sure jack wil work. Jack lets me pretty much route in to out, not what i want.

I guess you didn't really try Jack OSX... very good software but maybe not so straighforward. But I'm sure you can route the outputs of iTunes to both outputs 1-2 and 3-4 i.e (in fact to as many outputs as you want, even to other software inputs...)

k i got one set working. I see output 1-3 moving. Seems to be stonger on one side but ill work on that later. Now when i try to use main left and right get a weird noise. db meter will go sky high. Using JACK of course.

Hmm... I'll have a try with iTunes (I use Jack with Logic Express to bypass the 12 ins and outs limitation)
What mac do you use? OS? What is your setup?

Okay after another day of fooling around.

Still alittle strong on one side but good for now. Got both speakers working. Had to route 1-3 first then did mains. works perfect. Just have to figure out how to control volume for both sets of speakers. 1-3 have high volume levels.

As for my setup. PowerMac G5 Dualcore 2GHz, 4.5GB of memory, 160GB SATA and of course the MOTU Ultralite.

Anyone else find the ultralite menu (on the card) very confusing and hard to use? [/i]

If you need to adjust volume for a separate set of outputs, you may try this trick:
plug a spdif cable between spdif in and spdif out
route your main outputs to spdif in Jack
then adjust volume via cuemix spdif input gain...

good luck!
