When I get home i will have to try this. I do get the two cds on my desktop the one audio cd with one track on it and the the sample cd with a number under it. how should i go about copying the sample cd to the HD? do I just copy the folders in it or make an image file of it on the HD?
I hope this will work with cdxtract.
I'll let you know how it goes.
mac with tiger 4.2

please let us know what you hear (when you hear). I, like you, had no problem UVIX-ing the strings CD, but I, like you and others, get nothing at all with UVIX when I put in a Brass CD.azusa749a wrote: Last week I tried to convert the Brass CD ROM and it didn't work.
So I e-mailed soundsonline.com twice, and haven't got the answer yet.
All I got was an e-mail from the webmaster, Jennifer Collado;I guess UVIX have a problem with the digital watermarks that are on the discs. (This is just my guess.)Code: Select all
Thank you for contacting us. Your email has been forwarded to our Technical Supoort Team. They will try to answer your email as quickly as possible.
The other Roland format disc (the strings) doesn't have it.
Again sorry about that. I'm still out for $19.95 too. I should have bought the other format instead.
thanks

What format of the Brass title did you get? The Kurzweil formatted one works fine in UViX despite the digital watermarks.williemyers wrote:please let us know what you hear (when you hear). Is it possible you guys got a defective batch of disks?

hey Bill,
all the discs I got were Roland. I had no trouble UVIX-ing the Ultimate Strings, but the Brass were a no go.

I'm thinking no, since I was eventually able to read the disc at a guy's studio that has a PC copy of Translator. The Roland QL Brass are just super-crabby with conversion software for some reason, it looks like.billf wrote: Is it possible you guys got a defective batch of disks?![]()
Note that the workaround bhagert and others are talking about is does *not* work for this disc AFAIK, but for the S5000 format. With the Roland one you never get a cd volume appearing on the desktop.
