Would be nice if they all used the same installer.

Nembrini Audio Freebies

Nembrini Audio Freebies

Nembrini just dropped a new version of their online installer app, Nembrini Audio Central. I only have one product of theirs: Phasevibe Bundle. But this new app shows a lot of freebie plugs that look like they might be useful. See the pic below.

You can get the installer app here: https://www.nembriniaudio.com/pages/nem ... io-central

You may need to create an account at their site before you can grab the freebies.

BBC Sound Library opened up

Post by BKK-OZ »

Not sure if this is the best place to post...

I'm not quite sure when the BBC decided to open source their sound library, but I only found out a day ago.
It really is a treasure trove of good, useful stuff, and you don't have to create an account to download whatever you want.

They even have a unicorn sound:

Cheers,

…string theory says that all subatomic particles of the universe are nothing but musical notes. A, B-flat, C-sharp, correspond to electrons, neutrinos, quarks, and what have you. Therefore, physics is nothing but the laws of harmony of these strings. Chemistry is nothing but the melodies we can play on these strings. The universe is a symphony of strings and the mind of God… it is cosmic music resonating through 11 dimensional hyperspace.

BBC Sound Library Opened Up

Post by monkey man »

Just read the TOU and it's fine to use non-commercially, but it looks like you need permission if you're going to use it in anything you intend to make money from:

Using BBC content

Provided you keep to these rules, the BBC grants you permission to use the BBC content but only…

1) For non-commercial, personal or research purposes (for example, including the content on a non-commercial, advertisement-free reminiscence website aimed at helping trigger memories in people with dementia)
2) For formal education purposes while you are a student or a member of staff of a school, college or university (for example, if you are enrolled on a university or college course, or if you are a school pupil, or you are a teacher and you wish to display the content on an electronic whiteboard, including images in a printed class worksheet)

When you need permission

If you’re intending to use it for any other purpose, for example…

1) substantially to do your job – as an employee, contractor or consultant
2) for commercial purposes – to make a profit
3) for non-profit and government organisations
4) to do text and data mining, computer analysis or to develop or train artificial intelligence

…you’ll need to get our permission first, and you might have to pay a fee.

So yeah, not sure if using it in our own songs counts as commercial use 'cause I don't see it specified.

Almost mirrors USA Copyright and Fair Use laws with a couple of exceptions:

US Copyright does not apply to the Federal Government. It does apply to State and local governments except for State Fairs — no idea how they swung that exemption (and I helped write it back in 1976).
So yeah, not sure if using it in our own songs counts as commercial use 'cause I don't see it specified.
It appears to me that, like sampling of any kind, one needs permission to use it in a derivative work intended for publication. In the broadest sense of the word, publication means made available to the Public in any form.

Yup, so it's "free" but you need to clear every sample. :banghead:

Boom Library StereoLab plugin (normally $89) FREE for limited time

Boom Library StereoLab plugin (normally $89) FREE for limited time

Apparently this company is giving away their StereoLab plugin. I read on another forum today that they're only giving away 10,000 licenses and then it stops. Be forewarned that their site is getting slammed hard currently. I had to add to cart and then wait a minute or two for it to respond, then go to my cart... same one or two minute wait. So it is slow. Also, requires iLok account.

THE HASSLE-FREE & MOST FLEXIBLE STEREO PLUG-IN
Seize control over your stereo imaging with this one-stop stereo plug-in. Keep your sounds three-dimensional and dynamic by using STEREOLAB to morph your mono signal into a full-range stereo sound, or shrink your wide field into a coherent, single mono mix. With left/right independent panning, mid-side gain, left and right delays to create interaural time differences. STEREOLAB truly is an all-in-one stereo-mono plug-in that is a must-have on every FX chain.
